Warning: self harm and depression.
It had been a week since Thanksgiving and no one had seen or heard from Laurens in days. His teachers said that he was still in his classes, but he always showed up at the last second and was the first to leave. No one had been able to find him after that. Thomas Jefferson had also had a strange conversation with James Reynolds. He told Aaron Burr and James Madison as well.
Flashback to them talking!
"Why are you here again?" James asked.
"Hamilton is annoying me, and since your roommate has disappeared, you have an open desk." Jefferson stated.
"Yeah, that Hamilton. He's good for a buck though." James snickered. (You see where this is going?)
"Yep, wait what?" Thomas did a double take. (Mwah hahahaha!!!)
"I was able to get 500 bucks from that show off." James chuckled.
"Why?"
"I'm afraid I can't go that far. But let's just say he has some skeletons in his closet from back in high school."
End Flashback of them talking!
Jefferson had met up with his friends.
"So, I have something you both might be interested to know."
Alexander had been trying to reach Laurens for the past week. He was starting to worry about him. Peggy ran over when she saw him pacing around the campus.
"Hey Alexander! Have you heard from him?" She asked.
"No. Why on earth would you kiss someone else when you already had a boyfriend who loved you?" Alexander said, upset.
"I know, I'm sorry." Peggy sighed. "It's just.... you don't realize what you're doing until after you've done it."
"I know what you mean." Alexander mumbled to himself.
Meanwhile...
Laurens had been staying at a hotel for the past week. Not a close one either. He was finally putting that inheritance to use. (I may or may not have been planning this for awhile and was just setting this up. May or may not!) He had to go thirty minutes in a taxi just to make it to his classes. He only had the clothes he was wearing the day he left and a couple other things he picked up at the store. But he didn't want to leave other than to go to school. He left his phone at his house so Alexander couldn't track him. He thought of everything. He was alone.
Laurens had just been watching TV all day. His body ached from the emotional pain. So much that he could barely feel the pain in his arm and ribs. It drained him. He hurt from head to toe. He couldn't take it anymore. John's eyes were red and puffy from crying. The love of his life, who had just promised to love him forever, cheated on him and kissed another man. Not only another man, but her former lover. Stephen Van Rensselaer. The one we hate.
Laurens dragged himself to the bathroom. Feeling empty and lifeless. He looked at himself in the mirror. He really did look awful. His curly hair was all messy, his eyes drenched with tears. He took out a razor and stared at his face again in the mirror."A toast to the end of all I know."
Laurens took the blade and slowly made a single cut on his left arm. He didn't even look at it, he just kept looking into the mirror. Relieved that for the first time in a week, he felt relief in his chest as the blood flowed down his arm.
Washington, Eliza, and Lafayette had gone looking for Laurens. They left Peggy, knowing he wouldn't want to see her. Alexander stayed at the college just incase he came back. Martha did the same at the Washington house.
