In case you didn't read the title, fall break was upon them. It had been a week since the accident. Laurens was still in an arm cast and has a brace for his ribs. But he was doing better. Better-ish. He had been staying with the Washingtons since he couldn't really move and function too much. The doctor wouldn't let him. Peggy had been coming over everyday. But things were still weird between them after Peggy finally confessed she had been lying to him.

"I'm sorry, he did what!" Eliza exclaimed.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I should've told all of you." Peggy sighed. "Stephen confessed his love for me."

"When did this happen?" Angelica asked.

"Not too long before the accident." Peggy flinched, scared of what they would say.

"I'm calling the guys. Does Laurens know?" Eliza gasped.

"Yes. I told him when I thought he died." Peggy snickered.

Eliza called Alexander and told him and Lafayette to meet them at her and Peggy's dorm. They arrived shortly after.

"What did you want to tell me?" Alexander asked.

"Actually, Peggy wants to tell you something." Eliza smirked and pushed her sister forward.

"Well. You all know I have a friend named Stephen Van Rensselaer." Peggy started.

"Friend?" Lafayette asked. "I thought you used to date?"

"And I'm sure he still want to." Alexander chimed in.

"That's the thing. Those are both true." Peggy said awkwardly.

"Yeah, it's pretty obvious." Alexander joked.

"That's not what I meant." Peggy whispered.

"What did you mean?" Alexander smirked.

"He may or may not have.... sorta.... confessed his love to me when Grandfather set up a lunch between the two of us?" She stated as if it was a question.

"Well, may or may not?"

Peggy sighed. "May."

All eyes were on Peggy at this moment.

"What? When?"

"Does Laurens know?" Laf asked.

Peggy nodded. "Yeah, I told him when we were in the hospital. He started getting suspicious and it was tearing us apart. Things have still been weird ever since."

"How long ago was said lunch?" Alexander questioned.

"Ok, I get it. It was awhile ago and I should have told you all." Peggy threw her arms up. "But now our relationship is unstable and I'm not sure what I should do."

Angelica wrapped her arm around her little sister, seeing she was clearly upset. "Did you tell Stephen you weren't interested?"

She nodded.

"Then put it behind you and go be with your man!" Ange cheered.

"Heh, thanks guys." Peggy smiled. "I think I will."

"Is now a bad time to mention that Laurens told me and Laf already?" Alexander smirked.

"Yes." Peggy glared at him.

She grabbed her bag and ran downstairs to her rented car. Hers was still in the shop after the accident. Her entire passenger seat door had to be replaced. But the temporary vehicle wasn't bad.
She drove to the Washington house to see 'her man'.

"Peggy! So nice to see you darling!" Martha greeted. "Come inside dear. I'll go tell Laurens you're here."

She smiled and walked into the living room. Peggy sat down on the couch and waited for John. He came downstairs and went in to see her.

"Hey handsome!" She smiled.

"Hey!" He smirked. "What'd I miss today?"

"Oh, nothing much. I'm sure I over heard Alexander talking to Laf about Thomas." Peggy laughed. "Something about making 'it' look like an accident?"

Laurens burst out laughing. "Then I've missed nothing."

"How are you feeling today?"

"Like crap. But it's nothing I can't handle."

"Good." Peggy stated. "Wait no! I mean bad. Well... never mind. You know what I mean."

"Of course I do." He gave her a kiss. "So are you coming over for Thanksgiving?"

"I'll have to ask my dad. But I'm sure he won't care." Peggy giggled. "Hopefully this year will be better."

"As long as I'm with you, it will be perfect!"

"I love you!"

"I know." (Han? Is that you?)

Washington came in a little bit later.

"Peggy, do you want to stay for dinner?"

"Yeah sure!" She smiled. She wouldn't pass up a chance to be with Laurens. They both had originally talked about planning a day at the beach for fall break. But then all that went out the window thanks to some drunk guy they will probably never see again. Right? Anyway. This would work too, as long as she got to be with him. As long as their relationship lived.
