Warning: mentions of possible suicide and attempted murder.
Philip Schuyler had just found out about the Reynolds Pamphlet. He was preparing for prison. He was gonna try and kill Alexander.
"Fetch me my hunting rifle." He said to one of his staff members.
"Would you like me to prepare the rest of your hunting equipment Sir?" The man answered.
"No, I just need the gun for today." Philip answered.
"Of course Sir." The man nodded and left the room.
Peggy had gone back to Schuyler Manor to grab something she left the last time she was there. Her grandfather stopped her as she left.
"Peggy darling. I'm so glad you and Stephen are finally admitted your feelings for each other."
"Not now Grandfather. Eliza and Laurens are still missing and now they haven't been seen in like a week and a half and there is no telling if they..." Peggy trailed off as her eyes filled with tears. She didn't want to admit that they possibly could have killed themselves.
"I know. And I am very concerned about Eliza. I hope she's ok."
"What about Laurens? Why did you leave his name out?" Peggy argued. She knew if she hinted to him anymore that Mr. Schuyler would never except John. She had to straight out confront him.
"I'm sorry the boy is missing, but I can't say I didn't see this coming." He replied. "He is a handsome young man, but he's not good enough for you."
"No, I'm not good enough for him." Peggy comebacked and began to walk away.
"Oh, like how that Alexander kid was good enough for Eliza?"
"I was the one who made him leave. He felt like he wasn't good enough for me and that he had to leave to make me happy. And now who knows what could have happened to him!" She teared up. "I'll be back later." She stormed out of the house.
Peggy decided to check all of the hotels within a 100 mile radius. She had alot of friends in the hotel business, and some of them were able to help her out. It took her hours, but she finally found a room with a Johnathan Lawrence, staying there. Possibly her ex.
She took a deep breath and knocked on the door. A certain young man answered.
"LAURENS?"
"Sorry, wrong room." He said before closing the door.
That didn't stop the girl. "Laurens! I'm really sorry. Please let me in!"
"Why?"
"Just let me explain!"
The door opened and Peggy went in.
"Yeah, I would love to hear your excuse about this." Laurens deadpanned.
"Peggy?" Eliza asked, looking up from the TV.
"Hey Eliza?" She said it all awkwardly. "I came to apologize and to try and get you to come back."
"Why would we do that?" Laurens stated, more of an answer than a question.
"I know you don't want to see me right now, and if you come back I wouldn't expect you to." Peggy began. "But think about your family. Your parents have been worried sick about you and so has Laf. Alexander too, but this isn't really the time for that."
"Huh." Laurens was taken aback by this. He wasn't used to people actually caring about him. He forgot how worried the Washingtons must've been during this time.
