Scarlet had just turned three a few months ago, and while it made you sad to know she was growing up, you couldn't deny how much you loved having a little person around you all the time. It was like your life lit up even more with the addition of her.

Because of Tom's job, you spent a lot of time with her. And luckily, it wasn't a problem, because she was a momma's girl. But now, Tom was home for a year an a half, a "break for my best babes," he had called it. The thought made you roll your eyes and laugh at the same time, because that was so typical of Tom.

"Red?" Tom called out. "Where are- oh," he said, coming in to the kitchen to find you and Scarlet sitting on the kitchen counter, eating ice cream out of the pint and looking through a toy magazine. "Here's my babes."

You glanced up, empty spoon in your right hand. "Here we all are," you grinned happily. "Isn't that right, baby?" You tickled Scarlet's tummy.

She giggled and gave you an enthusiastic nod.

"The boys are on their way. Wanted to see us."

"Yay!" Scarlet said, clapping her itty-bitty hands as best she could, and you smiled at the action.

Just then, the doorbell rang, and Tom pointed up with a grin. "That'll be them." He went to get them, and you and Scarlet continued eating ice cream and looking at the barbie's and hot-wheels selections.

"Hey all," Harry said, Harrison coming in right after him, and then Sam and Tom and Tuwaine and Paddy.

Tom went to stand by you and Scarlet while everyone spread around the kitchen casually, making light conversation.

"You want uppy, Scarlet?" Tom asked. She shook her head enthusiastically again, talking with a grin.

"Nuh-uh. I wanna stay with mummy."

"Don't you wanna cuddle with daddy?" Tom said, poking her stomach playfully like you had done minutes prior.

She shook her head again, and Tom pouted. When Harrison and Harry suggested they play in the backyard, Scarlet was enthusiastic, begging for them to take her. When the boys (and Tessa) were out back, you got to work on making a lunch, but Tom lingered behind.

"Baby," Tom whined.

You grinned, "What is it, Tommy?"

"Red doesn't wanna be with me," he over-exaggerated.

You giggled. "That's not true, you goof."

"But she always wants to be with you! I never get my babygirl," he pouted again.

You put the spoon on the counter before turning around to look at him. "Well, she's just a mamma's girl," you said with a smirk.

Tom's pout grew even more, and you turned around to get back to making the lunches. "But I wanna be with my baby," Tom said.

This time, you didn't even bother turning around. "Well, maybe the baby on the way will be a daddy's girl. I know you'll spoil them rotten," you said casually.

"Bay- Baby on the way?"

You turned around with watery eyes and shaky hands. "Yeah, Tommy."

"Your- you're.."

"I'm pregnant, Tommy," you said, smiling.

"Really?" he said, his pout growing and his eyes watering too.

"Mhmm."

He pulled you into his chest, hugging you like his life depended on it. "I really hope it's a girl. A daddy's girl."

You giggled before thwiping the back of his head, a silly grin plastered on your face.
