"Thomas, you're going to wear out these shoes and sweat through your dress shirt if you keep pacing like this."

It was Scarlet's wedding day, and Tom and Y/N were there early, helping to set up and make sure things were going great. Now, they had just put the finishing touches on their outfits, prepping Tom to walk his daughter down the aisle and give her to another man.

Y/N couldn't help but feel nostalgic about the whole ordeal. She thought back to the time her and Tom got married, so many nights ago. She was thinking about that night; their vows, their first kiss as husband and wife, and that one magical dance. And then, she was thinking about her parents and how they had, had one of the most heartfelt talks with her. And she thought about her honeymoon, and how much love Tom had, and still has. She thinks of how greatly he treated her, how lovingly he held her, touched her. Y/N could only hope that Michael would do the same for Scarlet, like Tom had done for her so many years ago.

"Yeah, I kno-" Tom cut himself off. He turned away from the mirror to look at his wife, who was close to crying. "Love? Love, what's wrong?"

"Our baby's all grown up," she breathed out, reaching for Tom's hands.

"Love, don't start crying yet. The wedding hasn't even started!" He said playfully, and both of them laughed. Tom had pulled her in, his old, wrinkled hands gripping her hips as they hugged.

A considerably moment of silence had passed before Y/N had spoken up again. "We did so well."

"Yeah," Tom said, rubbing her back. He took a deep breath and exhaled. "Yeah, we did."

Tom was behind the closed double doors. He was waiting for his daughter, Scarlet, to come out in her white dress, so that they could walk down the aisle together.

And she had come out, and Tom couldn't help but let the tears fill his eyes.

She was wearing Y/N's wedding dress, the same one she had worn the night he had gotten married. The same one she wore when they danced together, and kissed with so much passion, and cried. Cried from all the love and happiness, like Tom right now.

"Daddy," she whispered, holding both his hands and standing in front of him.

"My babygirl," he said, wiping off one of her tears. "My beautiful angel."

Y/N was sitting in the front row, smiling through teary eyes at her daughter's fiance. The music had started, and everyone was standing up and looking to the aisle, where Tom and Scarlet were walking down.

Tom was crying, trying his best to not let so many tears fall. His head was turned to look at Scarlet, and she could only give him a heartfelt smile, a silent 'thank you,' and Tom gave her one in return.

And then, Tom was sitting next to Y/N, both of them watching their daughter, and the love of her life. It was when they were saying their vows that Tom had noticed Scarlet was wearing Y/N's necklace, the necklace Tom had given her, the one she had worn on their wedding day. This time, he didn't stop the tears from falling.

When the freshly married couple had finished their kiss, they were about to walk down the aisle again, hand in hand, but Scarlet turned to look at her parents. There were tears in all of their eyes. It was another 'thank you,' expression from Scarlet, only this time it was filled with emotions that words couldn't describe.

And that was when Tom knew. His job was done, and he had let go and given his beloved babygirl off to a new man, one that would give her a brighter future and a family of her own.

"We did a good job," he had whispered to Y/N. He wiped a stray tear away, "We did a really good job.
