A warrior's heart and mind
In this barren field, where only the roars and cries of fallen comrades are heard, you have lied that tired back of yours, waiting to be slayn. Tell me, will you wake up or continue to rot to death?
A day full of nerve wracking sparks and clanking of the swords and armors, you have rested your bleeding body on the cold ground after staying one of the alive. Do you even value your life?
"Because I have someone I love, I am not afraid to die anymore."
You are only one of the legion that fights for the people. Would they even notice that you are gone?
But you are just living in people's imaginations, for your real identity is a man stripped of all his personalities. You are an empty can whose qualities are only applied to show the world a fake you. You are a jar full of facade and secrecy.
"I wear red so that people would not be concerned if I hurt myself. So that people would not be scared if I bleed."
At the end of the day, all your steel bodies would melt and give you sores to no end. But after waking up, you wear your heaviest clothes and walk into fire yet again.
Think that you are a hero in the people's eyes, but with only one flaw, you are a failure... a disgrace. Now, is it still worthy to fight?
"Nothing is worth more than protecting my people and bringing honor to my family. I am willing to die anytime."
You tell the worst lies of all, only for the peace of minds. Your life is not your own but for the people who does not know your true self.
"It's worth telling the most painful lies if it's their calm faces that would greet me goodbye."
When will the world know the beauty of your smiles behind your painted face? When will the world know the scars you hide behind your layered armors?
When will the people know how hard you grasped and swung your blade for their futures?
"My blade is made for them, it never mattered whether they knew how I used it or not."
You fight for what you believe in, fight for who you are and for those who are waiting for you to come home.
But what would they be waiting for if you are ready to die anytime. You are not even afraid of dying. You die in battle or by your men's sword, would it not matter to you?
"If my dead body or only my armor that goes home, I will not be sad, I know for sure that I got home because it is assured that the war is finally over."
But have you ever thought what those specific persons would feel about your sacrifice?
A tear that flows on your face is a sword stabbed in their hearts, how much more if a blood flows from your eyes?
Running away is never a bad decision. Avoiding this disaster by running away is also a solution.
"I chose to come this far, not to run away at the end. I am here now so that I can shield my people. I am willing to die for them."
You were never the only one who is willing to die, but why is it that you are willing to waste your life but could not let go of those who die for you?
You are protected by the people you protect, like you, they are willing to die for you. So, don't waste your life now.
You were never the only one who loved, but of course those you love, loves you back. For them, dying is nothing if it means your safety, as well.
"I know it was never fair that I die for those who prayed for me to live. But what use are the prayers if it's inevitable for me to die in the battlefield?"
For a specific warrior like you, exists one person who watches you get hurt. There is one person who loves you dearly more than she loves herself.
If you don't want to run away. Then, at least, get up and hold your sword. Swing it left to right, right to left. Before you defend your people, defend yourself.
"My strength is slowly slipping away from me. I don't have the strength to defend myself anymore."
Wake up. Open your eyes, stand up and fight again, warrior.
You are a warrior, whose one foot already halfway under the ground. A warrior whose armor is his bare skin.
You are a warrior, whose loyalty flows stronger than any water. A warrior whose will is to fight for his one and only beloved.
You are a warrior, whose bravery fills his bones and muscles. A warrior whose mightier than any steel when in battlefield.
You are a warrior, whose genuity is more real than any diamond of pure legitimacy. A warrior clearer than the clearest sky.
Wake up. Your enemy is nearing your range. Stand up and hold your ground. Strike them for as long as you can.
Yes, you can still stand up for the last time.
As long as you can spill blood for your beloved. Be as stubborn as you are at your strongest.
No one will spite you, no one will blame you for what will happen, you are a warrior ready to die, nevertheless.
