GHOSTING
A silhouette of a girl that seemed so unfamiliar entered my sight. By the looks of it, she is a new student in the campus.
Not just me, but also my friend, Addamm, has been enchanted but such a beautiful silhouette.
"Do you know her?" I asked. He was too occupied staring at the silhouette that all my words seemed to be rejected by his ears.
I hit his shoulder to get his attention, and there he answered, "I don't know either. You want me to get some information about her?"
How he said it was too entertaining, having his eyes as enchanted as mine.
I let him have his way. He asked around about the girl, asking various of friends and teachers. A teacher then told him she knew the girl. She was supposedly the adviser of the girl and so she arranged a meeting for the two.
I'll let him have his way for now. I will have to wait for my chance to come by.
"Hey, bro! Ma'am Zee asked her to meet me, she said we can meet this afternoon." He said with a grin in his face. A smile, though, that I want to take off. "Ah, and her name is quite angelic, it's Haniel."
I did not want to look too bitter about it so I supported him. "Goodluck bro. I hope you enjoy your time."
Things did not go as planned though. A mere three weeks of sweetness passed and their connection is already cold as hell.
Addamm avoids her, since he already have another girl to entertain.
"It's annoying, bro. She keeps on chatting me and asking for my company, it's making me uncomfortable." he said.
I never would have known a friend of mine since 7th grade is a jerk I hopefully wished I wouldn't be. I was disappointed.
Two people became a bridge for them to talk. The girl asked her friend to talk to his friend to talk to him to meet her again. But unfortunately, Addamm kept his mouth shut and even avoided a friend because of it.
I decided to talk to him myself, at least to give him a sense of responsibility and obligation.
"Hey, Addamm! I think we need to talk." I said. He seemed nonchalant about it, looks like he already knows what I want to say. "Don't add up, bro. I don't need your company right now."
That triggered a nerve in me, "Are you seriously saying that now?"
"If you like her, then you go and take her. Why would you hesitate? You see me as busy as can be with my girl, can't you see?" he answered.
Ah seriously, this turns me off. I want to punch his face right now.
Later then, the girl approached me, asking me if I could bring Addamm out and talk with her.
Even she looked pathetic to me now. I see no hope in this situation. "Would it be fine if you could just give him up? I hate to break it to you, but he already has his hands full with another girl."
"Do you think I can take it? He asked for me himself and now he's busy keeping another girl's company?" she cried.
"All you have left to do is to accept that he played and ghosted you." I uttered.
I stood right in front of her. "Now move on. Or at least let me be the one you are waiting and looking for." She looked at me confused.
That was the spark for a very long pause, I don't think she would want that, anyway. It is already expected, she didn't break my heart, I did.
Feeling awkward with the atmosphere I broke that silence with a dignified stand, "Let me punch him in the face first."
I felt sorry for not going to her first. I let my timing go, I deserved this, but if there's no way to get the girl, I'll at least have some fun dealing with the jerk.
I let a day pass, then I met with him. "You really have no more desires of going back to her?"
He gave a silent stare. I low key gritted my teeth then poked my cheek with my tongue, "Woah, you're seriously not the Addamm I knew."
I walked few steps while he stepped backwards. "What's the problem, bro?" he asked.
"Don't bro me, I don't even know who you are."I answered. I slowly approached him as he backed down in the same phase. Too bad for him, I'm one step advance, So I got my reach of the prize. Out of anger, I grabbed his shoulder. I punched him in the face after having the right moment at the right phase.
"Oh, sorry. Did that wake you up?" I infuriated, having a smirk in my face.
I guess he didn't see that coming. Just like how he didn't notice my feelings for Haniel.
To be honest, I knew Haniel, I got to fall for her first, and got to know her first. He's just supposed to be an extra, but he became too absorbed with his role that he forgot about it.
I'm just putting him back in his place, though being my friend is out of the question.
Two bestfriends and a silhouette.. Now, just three distinct strangers.
I lost my friend and chance for love.
I never would have known, a love so sweet could end up as hurtful as a sword wound.
