"I know."
He took a deep breath and spoke softly into my ear, which I hated him for.
"I have an idea."
"Yeah?" I said seductively. He laughed and sat up. I immediately missed his warmth, so I looked up at him sadly.
"Let's trick them." He picked me up and carried me to my room, standing me up just inside the door, as if someone would hear us. "We'll pretend we're dating! It stops the single jokes and-"
"Avi, that's as crazy as your hair looks right about now."
He frowned and pulled his hair back, letting it fall into a perfect side part with a few long strands of hair falling over his face. I hated him.
"Is it though? It is. Maybe if they found us in an unfortunate position?"
"What?"
Avi had a smug grin across his face and probably too much beer in his system. He darted out of my room and back into the living room, grabbing snacks and a few of the beers from where we were sat. He brought them back, filling every inch of free space on my bedside table. Avi ran back out and delicately hung his shirt on the corner of the couch.
"Hand me your pants!"
"WHAT?!"
"Pants. Don't make me take them off you."
"I mean. I wouldn't oppose."
He rolled his eyes and knelt in front of me with little to no hesitation.
"Woah! Avi! No!" I pulled away from him, only to fall back against my bed, which only made the situation worse. Avi stood up with his hands raised and took a step back. I took a deep breath and undid the button and zipper on my pants. I slid them off and handed them to him. He ran out of my room again and dropped them into a small realistic pile against the edge of the breakfast nook. It was almost as if he'd done this before or something. I stood leaning against my doorway and watched him run around. Avi moved his empty beer bottles and my almost empty bottle of chardonnay to the living room table and knocked a few of them over. He found his beanie, which he'd tucked into his back pocket, and draped it lovingly over the TV. Then, he picked me up, dropped me on my bed, then turned around and started taking off his pants. My record player was on the top shelf. He paused and carefully moved it down to the shelf below. He stepped out of his pants.
"If you have to leave this bed, try not to move anything."
"I didn't sign up for this!"
"I know."
