The Best Man

Chapter 1

"No!!!!!!!"

It's already 6:30 in the morning when I woke up. I hurried to the bathroom to have a shower and put on my uniform. This is the last day of our final exams and yet, I didn't finish reviewing all my subjects!

"Hell! I'm really late!", I blurted out.

I glanced at my watch and it's already 7:05 when I reached our classroom, thank heavens our Prof is not yet here.

"Ella, are you ready for our last day? I'm sure you did review well", said Trish, my best friend since childhood.

"I haven't read the last chapter of the book, I fell asleep and I wasn't able to wake up early this morning!", I hissed.

Trish was surprised by my outburst and winked at me, "Hey, calm down. I'm sure you're gonna make it".

We all settled down as our Professor came in and gave his final instructions.

As we are all finished with the exam, Professor Jacob stated his final last words for us.

"Class, you are the best batch I have ever handled. Though some of you, I mean, most of you are hard-headed; still you managed to pass my subject. I hope, I can see all of you successful in the near future", Prof. Jacob said as he wiped away his tears from his eyes. I have never seen him like this, him as a very strict, stiff and knowingly terror teacher, shed tears in front of us? This is really funny but, I felt his sincerity.

"Group Hug!", one of my classmates yelled out, and one by one went to him and hugged him hard.

"This is such a big group to hug," Prof. Jacob muttered as he welcomed us in big Teddy Bear hug.
