Chapter 11: The Armory's Destruction

Y/N POV

Having realized that Athena and the Vault Hunters had already escaped Lockdown Palace, it wasn't too much of a stretch to assume that they would soon storm the Armory.

Me and the Pyro Team, returned to our Lancers before driving back to the Armory. Luckily it seems we arrived before the Vault Hunters made their move. As soon as we got out of the Lancers, I instantly made my way to my father's  office.

I didn't even bother knocking as I opened the door and said "Father, the Vault Hunters are here." I noticed he was gone however. I left the office and wandered about before eventually tracking him down to the courtyard of the Armory.

I also noticed he was already in his big Devastator suit, surrounded by more Devastators, two regulars and two Badasses.

I shouted "Father!" He turned to me as if he was expecting me to speak so I did. "Father. The Vault Hunters are on their way." He responded in his usual calm, yet bored tone "I know. I need you to be at the main entrance, you will engage them once they arrive. Meanwhile I will guard the Armory itself. Do you understand?"

I saluted "Yes sir!" Before I used my Teleporter to reach the front gate. Sure enough, I was instantly met with the sound of gunfire and the sight of the four Vault Hunters shooting their way through the defenses.

Eventually they reached where I was as I grinned and walked towards them "Hello Vault Hunters. It's a lovely day isn't it? Now do yourselves and us a favor by dying."

I pulled out my pistol and instantly began to shoot at the Vault Hunters as I yelled "I need reinforcements!" As if on cue several Lance Rocketeers and a Badass Rocketeer appeared to support me.

With the added aerial support, I actually thought I would be able to kill the Vault Hunters and we were even able to knock down Brick however he got a second wind off of one of the Rocketeers. And from there it went down hill.

The Vault Hunters, killed the Rocketeers and were even able to deplete my shield. I shouted out "I need a medic!" Soon, three Crimson Lance Medics showed up and placed their healing Scorpio Turrets.

With the Medics healing me, we had a bit more of an advantage. However the Vault Hunters were smart. They decided to target the Medics now and it didn't take long to kill them. Once again I was on my own and with not Medics or Rocketeers to back me up I saw only one option.

I pulled out my teleporter and once again, made a hasty retreat. I teleported to a safe distance, away from the armory, besides I knew my father and his Devastators would make quick work of the Vault Hunters.

My optimism shattered however when after about an hour, the Armory exploded!

My eyes widened when the realization hit me. The Vault Hunters had done it. They had destroyed the armory and my father was obviously dead. For once I was lost on what I was to do next.

I decided the best thing I could think of was to return to the Crimson Enclave. You see I was now the commander of that area so I would have to form a holdout and await further orders or extraction off Pandora from the Atlas Corporation.

But those orders never came, neither did an extraction ship. The Crimson Lance holdout I formed, remained waiting, and waiting, and waiting. But there was nothing. Until something interesting happened.

And it started with an encounter with the Hyperion Corporation.
