CHARLOTTE
MONDAY, SEP 13TH, 2020
It was another boring day and Charlotte had after school detention because of the amount of absences and unfinished assignments she had due to skipping school. As she walked in she sat down at a seat at the back, plugged her headphones in and started sketching a design into her sketch book completely ignoring the notes they were suppose to write that were up on the board. Eventually she looked up when she heard a creak and saw the door opening and that was when she saw those familiar brown eyes she always found herself getting lost in.
She watched as Louis sat down beside her, his fingers tapping against his desk to the beat of the music in his ears. Louis tapped her on the shoulder and she turned to face him, raising her eyebrows, just as he passed her a tiny folded piece of paper with the sentence"What are you listening to?" written on it. She slightly smiled while reading the note. "The 1975"she sketched underneath his writing on the piece of paper. He smiled as she put the note back on his desk. As the two gazed at eachother, he ran a hand through his hair again. He seemed almost nervous.
Shortly after Mrs Davies glanced over. "You two, back to work!" she called, glaring at them. Louis looked up at her innocently. Charlotte just avoided eye contact, this teacher already didn't like her, she didn't want to make things worse for herself. "Okay, Mrs Davies" he said sweetly. As the teacher glared back at him.
As soon as they were dismissed Louis walked with Charlotte back to her locker. He leant on the one beside hers as she put her books away. A figure appeared over behind her and she tensed up, confused by whoever's presence it was. "Johnathon!" he said, grinning. "Hey, Louis." the boy known as Johnathon replied. Charlotte glanced over at him, then looked away. Johnathon Phoenix, he was one of the boys in the group Louis hanged around with. "Why were you in detention?" Louis asked Johnathon intrigued to know why. "I was gonna ask you the same thing," said Johnathon. Then he shrugged. "I didn't hand in my maths assignment" Johnathon then said. Louis slightly giggled and said "Wasn't that due like last month bro." "Yes but I haven't had time to do it plus it was way to much for my brain to handle." Johnathon said as he glanced down at Charlotte as she turned around from her locker "Who's this?" Johnathon asked Louis. He hesitated, then ran a hand through his hair nervously. "Charlotte Williams" he said. "We, um . . .met in English." Johnathon smiled at her, then turned back to Louis. "You coming to play football with the boys and I" Johnathon asked Louis. "Uh yeah, I'll be there." Louis said. "Alright see you later then man." Johnathon replied, then walking out of school.
After a moment, Louis leaned back again the locker. Charlotte just shut her locker and started to walk away. "Charlotte!" Louis said as he caught up to her gently by the arm, so she was turning her back to face him. "Where are you going?" He asked. "Home. And you should, too. Your friends are waiting for you." Louis frowned. "I wasn't gonna leave without you," he said, studying her appearance, it was way more beautiful than he remember, her blue eyes now had specks of green and they sparkled in the sunlight.
"Why are you being so quiet?" He asked "I'm not." She said, looking at the ground. She looked around looking anywhere, but at him. "Look, I've gotta go. Margarets waiting for me" That was a lie, Margaret was still away on a girls trip but it's not like he would know. "Alright, bye." He said still worrying at why she was so quiet before. and seeing that made She look up and glanced at him before turning away. "Goodbye Louis."
This chapter was crap. I'm sorry.
