CHARLOTTE
TUESDAY, OCT 10TH, 2020
Charlotte and Louis caught the bus together every day for the next month. She started letting him listen to her music with her, and steal the seat beside her before Madi even had the chance too, but Madi didn't mind she had been sitting with her boyfriend anyways. Louis didn't expect the lads to understand his new bond with Charlotte. Before he'd met her, they hadn't even known who she was. Louis knew they would be upset, he had started leaving football practice earlier and ditching plans with them and he hardly spoke to them on the bus anymore. A part of Louis felt bad, but he had grown feelings for the girl. He loved being around her. He wasn't quite sure what it was that drew his attention to her, maybe the way he knew there was so much more to her than she let on. Maybe it was her taste in music or the things she drew, the books she read, or maybe it was the way that every time he looked up at the sky it reminded him of her blue eyes. She wouldn't get out of his head.
When he slung himself into the seat beside her on Tuesday, September 21st, she was already there waiting for him. "I found this book that you might like," she told him, going through backpack to find it. Louis looked over her shoulder as she continued to find it. "The outsiders" he read. She handed it to him and he started to read the blurb on the back. The book she had chosen was good. Not the type of book that Louis would normally read but he liked it. He looked down at her.
She seemed so excited and happy that it warmed him up, and without thinking about it, he slowly took her hand and laced his fingers through hers. She tensed immediately. He looked down at her and smiled as she smiled back. Then, slowly, gradually, she started to relax. Her fingers wrapped around his. Her long blonde hair began to fall in her face and the sun reflected on her eyes revealing the green speaks throughout them. Suddenly he pulled his hand away, clearing his throat. He was afraid if they stayed like that a moment longer, he would ruin everything.
"Do you have English first?" he asked in his raspy morning voice. She nodded. Louis didn't understand why the sight of her was messing with his head so badly. A months ago, he hadn't even known the girl's name, let alone the fact that she read the same books as him.
"Charlotte..." He said nervously ruffing his hand through his soft hair. "Do you, um.. would you like to come over tonight?" The moment he said it, he regretted it. She didn't respond right away, she just looked up at him trying to come up with an answer. He wanted to be around her, for more than just a 10 minute bus ride it had been weeks since the two last hung out together. He had been waiting for his dad to go out again and they couldn't go to hers because of Margaret. Eventually she let out a breath. "Of course I can come over."
I hope you all loved this chapter!
