Under the Rainfall: Episode 29
"Our Future"
One hour later. Slow, intimate music plays, echoing throughout the vicinity. The lighting is dim and somber, leaving everybody silent — slow dancing with their dates.
This, of course, includes Class 1-A. Momo and Shoto are slowly swaying along with the euphoric music. Having experienced a slow dance back during Christmas, their footing becomes more in sync with one another.
Heavy stares can be felt from every direction, knowing that almost everyone knows about the photo. This, along with the threat of expulsion, causes Momo and Shoto's hearts to drop.
However; they don't care. Let everybody stare. Expel them from U.A. Have their futures as pro heroes ruined. As they dance in each other's arms, all these negative thoughts escape them.
Having fallen deeply in love, the two remain apathetic to their surroundings. Momo pulls back, and gazes directly into Shoto's heterochromatic eyes. They continue staring into one another for seemingly forever.
Neither of the two want to look away. Seeing the love of their life dancing with them was merely enough to get absorbed into the atmosphere. The stares eventually disappear. The only thing the two see are each other.
The sound of heavy rainfall echoes outside, adding more to the atmosphere.
...
Shoto: I love you, Momo...
Momo: ...Shoto, I-
Momo deeply exhales, she then lets out a semblance of emotion even through the lucid vibe of the slow dance.
Momo: I'm terrified. What'll happen... if we were expelled? We wouldn't be able to be classmates, w-we... our future...
Shoto: ...Future...?
Momo: I-I want to be a hero. It's been my dream ever since I was a little girl,
b-but... my relationship with you is affecting that dream...Shoto: ...What are you... saying?
Momo suddenly breaks down into tears, softly sobbing into Shoto's suit. Shoto caresses her, as she continues letting out all of her pent-up feelings. The floodgate opens, and tears continue falling from Momo's eyes.
Momo: I think... that we should break up...
Shoto: ...?!
Suddenly, a loud crash from a thunderbolt is heard outside.
Momo: Y-You and I want to become heroes... a-and I don't want to burden you anymore! I'll take any punishment, I j-just don't want *your* future to be affected just from ONE high school relationship...
Shoto: ...
Momo: *Sob* I-It hurts... — It hurts me so much because I'm so madly in love with you. I-It's BECAUSE I'm so in love with you that I want this... I've made up my mind...
You have such a bright future ahead of you, Shoto. I don't want to destroy that future all because of me. I... I want what's best for you, and if I have to refrain myself from seeing you... th-then... then...!
Shoto: But is that what you really want...?
Momo: H-Huh?
Shoto: You said you want to break up, but I don't think that's true, Momo.
Momo: Wh-What are you talking about? I-I'm doing this for you...
Shoto: Momo... I don't want that. I don't want us to end. When I was just a child, all I ever admired were heroes. I wanted to become one so badly, so I entered U.A. High School.
