September flew by pretty quickly we didn't do much, and I hadn't talked to Draco once. I tried.. I tried so many times but every time i tried to he would avoid me and walk away. I wasn't sure what our status was.. were we still together? He seemed extremely distant like he was always somewhere else. I knew something was wrong but I couldn't figure out what. One thing that was going well was that Harry, Ron, Hermione, and I had become super close once again, and it felt refreshing to have them back as my true friends.
It was October sixth and It was our first Hosmeade trip of the year. Ron, Hermione, Harry, and I headed to the Three Broomsticks first to get some butter beers. I sat next to Ron and Harry and Hermione sat across from us. I was extremely thirsty so I was already done my butterbeer within minutes of sitting down.
"Bloody hell" Ron muttered next to me.
"What is it?" I asked glancing up at him
"Look, it's disgusting" He said as he looked up. I glanced in the direction he was looking to see Ginny and Dean Thomas snogging in the corner of the room. "I want to leave" He said looking at Hermione.
"Oh please Ron, If you and I were snogging and Ginny saw would you expect for her to leave?" Hermione said. Rons eyes widened slightly at her comment and Harry and I looked at eachother trying not to laugh. Realizing what she just said Hermione looked at the ground "well I- I mean anyone really" when Hermione finished I watched as Harry's body shifted uncomfortably in his chair before he turned around to look towards the door.
Draco walked in, he was dressed in all black and looked more pale than I had ever seen him look before. His sparkling grey eyes almost looked green and he looked like he could cry. He stood in the middle of the of The ThreeBroomsticks looking at me. His whole face screamed desperation. I stood up to walk towards him, something was wrong. But as I stood he shook his head before walking out of the pub closing the door firmly behind him.
"What was that about" Ron asked shoving a pumpkin pastie into his mouth.
"I don't know.." I trailed off slowly sitting back in my seat.
"Harry my boy" Slughorn said as he approached our table.
"Hello professor" Harry said standing up before shaking professor Slughorn's hand.
"Harry, It is very nice you see you, I actually have a proposal for you, I used to host a sort of supper for select students, I was wondering if you'd join in?" Professor Slughorn asked Harry
"That would be an honor sir" Harry replied
"Brilliant" Slughorn said pleased before looking down to Ron, Hermione, and I "And Granger and Silvering you would be welcome too"
"Thank you sir" I responded smiling
"And um, nice to see you" He said to Ron before walking off.
"What are you playing at" Ron said to Harry
"Dumbledore told me to get to know Slughorn, I don't know why , but if Dumbledore asked it must be important" Harry shrugged.
"Right.." Ron mumbled "We should get going" We all grabbed our bags before exciting The Three Broomsticks
Ron, Hermione, and I trudged through the fresh snow as we attempted to make our was back towards Hogwarts there were two girls walking slightly ahead of us. Hermione had both her arms around ron and Harry as she struggled through the snow. They were talking but I wasn't paying attention. I was starring at the two girls ahead of us who seemed to be arguing about something. I couldn't recognize them through the snow but I could hear one of the girls telling the other not to touch something.
"I know what I'm doing" The girl said and before I knew it she was on the ground beside a strange looking necklace.
"Guys what going on-" I started to say but the other girl who I now recognized as a Gryffindor girl named Leanne started screaming finally get Ron, Harry, and Hermione's attention.
"I-I told her not to touch it" Leanne whispered her eyes full of terror. it was then that Kaite Bell - who i reconized as the girl on the ground was thrashing side to side before being thrusted into the air and then being thrown back to the ground unconsciou.
"Oh my-" I whispered.
"Out of the way" Hargird said as he rushed passed us, Harry and I following close behind him as he made his way towards Kaite. Harry stopped by the necklace examining it carefully. "Don't touch that Harry" Hagrid said Picking Kaite bell off of the ground. "Don't touch it, I think it's cursed. I gasped as I looked to Ron and Hermione who were both making their way towards us.
Who could have done this?
"She just kept saying that she needed to deliver it.. To Professor Dumbledore" Leanne said quickly as we all entered Professor Mcgonagall' office.
"Thank you Leanne you may go" Professor Mcgonagall said quietly before turning to the four of us. "How come whenever something like this happens you four are somehow always involved?" Mcgonagall asked sternly.
"I've been asking myself that question for the past six years" Ron said as professor Snape entered the room. Him and Mcgonagall both faced the window.
"She's been cursed" I heard Mcgonagall whisper.
"It was Malfoy" Harry blurted out. My head snapped towards Harry my eyebrows furrowing in anger.
"That is a serious accusation Potter, evidence?" Mcgonagall questioned
"I- I just know" Harry said quietly.
"I suggest you all go back to your dormitories" Mcgonagall ignoring Harry's accusation
"Bye guys" I muttered before quickly leaving.
