April 3rd 1997
I woke up alone in Draco's bed the next morning just as I heard the door creak open. I quickly pulled the covers over my bare body in fear of who may be behind the door, but I took a breath of relief when i saw Draco appear from the corridor.
His lips formed into a grin when he saw me I looked down to his hands that were holding a small plate with a single pumpkin pastie.
In the middle of the pastie stuck a small candle with the tinistest flame shining dimly "Happy Birthday beautiful" he said smiling. I tilted my head in confusion.
"ohhh" I laughed. I hadn't been keeping trac of the days since Molly told me about returning to Hogwarts. "It's April third isn't it?"
"Yes" Draco smiled smacking his head playfully. He set the plate on the nightstand before jumping into bed with me, wrapping his arms around my chest. "You're so cute" he whispered into my ear sending a shudder down my spine. "What do you want to do today?" He asks.
I rolled over to face him. "Lets escape" I smiled "Go to the flower room the whole day"
"Sounds like a plan to me" he said stroking my hair.
One breakfast in the dinning hall was over Draco and I snuck into the kitchen and packed the leftover breakfast items into a small picnic basket before he led me through the long maze of corridors before reaching the flower room. It was exactly the same as the lat time he and I were there the year before..
befor everything changed. But it seemed as though the only thing that hadn't changed one bit was the flower room.
The white roses were still strewn all across the room in perfect unison, every flower the same. We set up our little picnic area before sitting down taking in the fresh summer scent.
Once we finished i felt Draco pause as he got his first good look at me. He glanced down at my arms where there were scars and small patches of discolored skin from the burns. Also my face which had mostly healed from the scarring exempt for one which was directly below my eye. Draco lifted his arm towards my face stroking the burn scar with his thumb.
"I'm so sorry" He whispered
"For what?-" And then I paused looking into his eyes as he desperately searched mine for.. something. My eyes widened "Did- did you know?"
His eyebrows lifted in panic at my question before he looked down.
"I didn't" He said before standing up "I- I gotta go.. I'm sorry"
I sat there in shock as he quickly exited the room leaving me alone
Draco's POV
I exited the room as fast as I could. I felt terrible for leaving her there.. I really did. But after taking a good look at her.. at what my people had done, i couldn't help but feel extremely guilty. How could I have let this happen?
Haley's POV
I cleaned up Draco and Is picnic before I headed to the dinning hall to say hi to my friends since lunch was about to end and I hadn't seen them since the night before. When I entered the dinning hall they all looked at me questionably.
"Happy birthday" Harry said as I sat down at the gryffindor table.
"Yeah happy birthday mate" Ron said awkwardly
"Thanks guys" I responded
"Harry look" Hermione whispered. We all turned our heads to look at Kaite Bell and Leanne walking into the dinning hall.
"Kaite Bell is back?" I questioned
"She came back a week ago but we've barely seen her" Ginny cut in as Harry stood up. I watched as he made his way over to Kaite Bell exchanging a few words with her before Harry turned his head to the entrance of the dinning hall.
It was Draco and he looked extremely upset. Him and Harry had a mini stare down before Draco glanced at me and then swiftly exiting the dinning hall at a speed walk, Harry speeding past us on his way to follow him.
"Harry" I said sternly as he passed me "Harry!" I called out now standing up. He was just going to make things worse.
"Haley, I wouldn't" Hermione warned me but she was to late I was already following harry out.
I kept close to Harry as we made our way down the dark hallway. I watched as He stood in front of the door of the boys bathroom. I hid behind a corner watching for what harry would do next.
I could hear Draco sobbing from the corridor and It broke my heart.. he sounded broken almost. Harry then entered the bathroom
"I know what you did Malfoy.. You cursed her didn't you?" Harry questioned sternly.
I had had enough I walked angrily to the bathroom just before I watched through the crack of the door as Draco casted a spell exploding the sink behind harry, making me flinch.
They continued to duel as I pushed my way into the bathroom. There was water already flooding the floors as toilets and sinks were blown up in the midst of Draco and Harry's duel.
"Stop!" I yelled "Guys stop it" But they didn't even notice I was there. The lights had been shut off now and the only source of light shinning into the room was that of the dim April sun.
"Sectumsempra" I heard Harry call out, and then everything was silent. The only thing I could hear were the faint whimpers of Draco. Coming from the other side of the bathroom stalls. In a slight panic I quickly made my way towards the noise. I saw harry standing a few feet away from Draco. His chest was completely torn open as he was laying in the flood of water.
I gasped as I ran over to him crumpling on the floor next to him. I tried all the healing spells that I knew but nothing was working I looked back up to Harry who was just starring at Draco not moving a muscle.
"What the hell did you do?!" I screamed at him through tears.
