The coming weeks were extremely uneventful, they were mostly spent walking.. to who knows where.. just walking and listening to the radio..
We stopped in a barn where we found bread and eggs and then continued through fields, abandoned trailer parks, by bridges, below water.. It was actually fairly nice.. walking all that way, I always enjoyed walking.. sight seeing, but when it was my turn to hold the horcrux it felt like the weight of the world was layed upon my neck.
Every second i felt like I was either going to snap at someone or crumble on the floor and cry, so i walked behind the group instead of at the front with Harry.
I trudged through the path kicking every rock that was in the way of my shoe. I was standing slightly behind Ron as we watched Harry and Hermione walking together.
"Look at them" I muttered "It's like they are part of some exclusive club we aren't allowed in" Ron turned to look at me a wave of concern washing over his face.
"Haley, you've been wearing that since last night.. Maybe you should take it off" He asked putting his hand out in front of him
"No.. You just wore it yesterday.." I said "I can where it a little longer"
"No Haley.. give it to me" Ron pushed. I rolled my eyes before i reductantly took it off my neck handing it to him.
We decided to stop for the night near a large lake, It was beautiful I even went for a swim before sunset.
I felt a lot better after getting that horcrux off my neck, as I walked back to the tent after getting out of the water Hermione handed me a towel that I wrapped myself in as I sat down behind Harry who was messing around with a small fragment of a mirror.
I watched as Ron walked to the edge of the rocks where the water started.. he picked up a rock before skipping it across the water.
I smiled before letting the towel drop from my shoulders as I stood up to meet Ron by the water.
"You skipping rocks?" I asked him picking up a rock for myself
"Yeah" He responded
"I'll have you know I'm actually quite gifted when it comes to skipping rocks" I said
"Oh really.." Ron said smirking "Lets have a go then"
"You're on" I laughed skipping a rock three times across the water, we continued until i was proclaimed the winner of our rock skipping competition.
"You two skipping rocks?" Hermione asked walking up to us
"Yeah.. wanna have a go?" Ron asked holding a rock out to her
"I would.. but I never learned how" Hermione said crossing her arms
"Common I'll teach you" Ron said smiling
"I'll leave you guys to it" I said walking back towards our campsite.
I sighed before sitting down next to Harry who handed me a blanket we starred off into the distance watching as the sun set behind Hermione and Ron who were skipping rocks on the water.
"You miss him, don't you..Malfoy?" Harry asked. I furrowed my eyebrows as I looked at him
"Yes" I sighed looking back towards the sunset
"Everyday"
