brenda's pov
"ok, what about university of michigan? one of my friends goes there, she says it's pretty chill."
i heard derek sigh into the phone.
"sure. just email me the link and i'll send your sat scores."
"thank you so, so much! i'll see you at work?" i said, before saying bye and hanging up.
i was talking to derek about a few other colleges and universities that he could help me apply to. i was on my laptop looking at them, while amelia was asleep.
suddenly, i heard the front door open. jack must be home early today.
i continued looking on my laptop as i heard him walk upstairs. the second that i heard the door open, i quickly shut my laptop as to not allow him to see what i was doing.
his smile faded slightly as he warily reached in to peck my lips.
"hey babe! whatcha' been upto?" he smiled cutely, his face like a five year old.
i awkwardly laughed, "nothing much, amelia was keeping me busy."
