I was passing out teacups as Zuko went around filling them. "No one can make tea like Uncle, but hopefully, we learned a thing or two. Would you like to hear Uncle's favorite tea joke?" They all agreed.
"Okay. Well, I can't remember how it starts, but the punch line is 'Leaf me alone, I'm bushed!'...Well, it's funnier when Uncle tells it,"
"Right ... maybe that's because he remembers the whole thing," Everyone laughed a Katara's comment. Zuko and I finished serving the tea.
We were about to sit by Sokka, "Hey can I talk to you two for a second?" He stood up and walked out of earshot and well followed. I looked over at Zuko and raised an eyebrow. He just shrugged in response.
"So, What's up?" I asked.
"If someone was captured by the Fire Nation, where would they be taken?" He asked. Zuko and I both gave each other the same knowing look.
"What do you mean? Who was taken captured?" Zuko questioned.
"When the invasion plan failed, some of our troops were taken. I just want to know where they might be," Sokka didn't meet our eyes.
Zuko looked over to me and I shook my head, "We can't tell you,"
"What? Why not?" He looked up at us.
"Trust me. Knowing would just make you feel worse," I put my hand on his shoulder.
"It's my dad. He was captured too. I need to know what I put him through," He was determined to find out.
"It's not good, Sokka," We both said in unison.
"Please," He gave us a pleading look.
"My guess is, they were taken to," Zuko started.
"The Boiling Rock," I finished. He nodded.
"What's that?" Sokka asked.
"The highest security prison in the Fire Nation. It's on an island in the middle of a boiling lake. It's inescapable," Zuko explained.
Sokka turned away, "So where is this place?"
"Why do you need to know?" I asked suspiciously.
"What are you planing?" Zuko raised an eyebrow.
"Nothing...Boy, you're so paranoid," Sokka waved his hand nonchalantly.
"It's in the middle of a volcano between here and the Fire Nation. You guys actually flew right past it on your way here," Zuko said.
"Thanks, guys," He yawned dramatically. "Just knowing makes me feel better,"
"Yeah, I'm sure it does," Zuko said sarcastically. After Sokka left he turned to me. I nodded. We got on Appa waiting for Sokka to try and sneak off.
I leaned on the side of the saddle and looked up at the stars, "It's a pretty nice night,"
"Yeah..." He leaned down next to me. I could feel his body heat radiate on my skin.
"I get where he's coming from...I mean, I just found my dad and he was sent right back to prison," I sighed.
"You're right. I can't really blame him," Zuko said quietly. We sat there as I pointed out constellations to him.
I felt him looking at me so I turned my head to face him. He pushed a piece of hair behind my ear. I blushed when his finger brushed against my cheek. He smiled softly. I smiled back. He looked like he was about to say something when we heard Sokka coming. We sat up and crossed our arms waiting for him to climb up.
