Glory was sleeping peacefully that night, curled up beside Deathbringer in her hut. When the first rays of sunlight shone in, Glory was awake and gently peeling herself away from Deathbringer. Stretching her wings in the morning light, Glory felt happier than she has in a long time. Launching herself into the air, she heads over to the hut where her friends were staying for another day. Sunny was awake, sitting at the entrance. A wide smile appeared on her face when she spotted Glory. Sunny leaped into the air and joined Glory. For once, Glory was glad that only Sunny was awake. "How are you? You don't look too good." Sunny asked, looking at Glory with a worried look in her eyes. Glory landed on a platform concealed by trees. Sunny followed suit. "Ok, seriously, what's wrong?" Sunny asked, and Glory paled. "Sunny, I have a problem." She said, and Sunny frowned. Then she smiled. "What are you smiling about?" Glory demanded. Sunny was bouncing around. "I knew it!" "Knew what?" "You're expecting a dragonet aren't you?" Sunny said, coming to a stop in front of Glory, her tail wiggling. "I, no, ugh, yes. I am." Glory said, staring at Sunny in disbelief. "How did you know?" Sunny smiled. "I just do." Glory rolled her eyes. "So, whatcha gonna name it? How 'bout, Sunny Jr.? Or Sunburst!" Sunny suggested. Glory sighed. "That's not my problem Sunny!" Sunny looked confused. "Oh? What is it?" She asked. "I need you to keep it a secret, okay? Don't tell anyone. Not even Deathbringer." Glory instructed, and Sunny gasped. "Are they you and Deathbringer's dragonets? And you didn't tell him?" Glory blushed. "Well, no, but-" Sunny cut her off. "There is no but. You have to tell!" Sunny was shouting now. Glory shushed. "Okay, I will. Just not right now." Sunny humphed but didn't complain anymore. By then, everyone in the rainforest was awake, and Glory spotted a worried Deathbringer flying through the trees. "I gotta go." She told Sunny. "I'll see you for Suntime." Sunny gave her one last hug, then crouched and told the dragonet inside, "See you later, Sunny Jr." Glory rolled her eyes once again before flying over to Deathbringer. He relaxed when he saw her. "Hey!" He called. "Hey." Glory replied, landing. "You're not supposed to run off without me." He said, and Glory sighed. "It's my kingdom. I can go where I please." Deathbringer nudged her. "What were you talking to Sunny about?" Glory tensed. "Nothing. Just saying good morning." Deathbringer nodded. "C'mon, let's get something to eat." Glory said, taking off and flying towards the pile of fruit. Carefully selecting a mango and a pineapple, Glory went back to her hut to eat. Deathbringer came too, but Glory shooed him away. "Go somewhere else." She said, pointing to his hut. "But I'm your bodyguard/True Love! You can't kick me out!" He whined, and Glory shoved him. "Yes I can, because I'm the Queen." And with that, Glory was free to think without Deathbringer pestering her. She knew the egg would come any day now, but she didn't know how to keep Deathbringer away. Settling down to eat her mango, Glory decided that she would wait until the time came.
Two Weeks Later
Glory was settling down on her platform when it happened. Moaning, she stretched out on her side. Deathbringer rushed over, sniffing Glory up and down, trying to figure out the problem. Glory looked at him. "It's the dragonet." She said, panic in her voice. Deathbringer's eyes widened with realization and he flew off to get Mayfly. When Mayfly arrived, she told Deathbringer to leave. He protested, but when Glory shot him a look he left. After about an hour, Mayfly came to get Deathbringer from where he had been pacing. Flying back to Glory as fast as he could, he landed to find her curled around an iridescent egg, the top black fading into a rainbow of color. Glory looked up at Deathbringer, eyes shining with love for this egg, their egg, and for him. He padded over and laid down next to her. "She's ours." Glory whispered, and Deathbringer glanced at the egg. "How do you know it's a she?" He asked, and Glory swatted him with a wing. "I just know." She said. Deathbringer kissed Glory, curling around her and their new egg. "I love you Glory." He said. Glory curled tighter around her egg, deathbringer standing guard. Glory smiled. They were the perfect family.
