Sunburst searched frantically for her daughter. Sea Star and Seafoam were searching the Rainforest, Starling and her family searching the Sand Kingdom. Firefly and Kiwi were searching the Nightwing village, asking around. Sunburst slowed her fast breathing. She's got to be around here. She thought, growling. That stupid Icewing!
Eclipse paced back and forth across the Hollow, their hideout. Her head had calmed now that they were underground. Sleet fidgeted with his tail. "Your mom is going to kill me." He said. Eclipse didn't reply. She went to a board and dipped her claw in white ink. Then she called upon the memories of one of the strange dragons.
A blue dragon with teardrop wings smiled nervously. "Come on Blue!" Called the dragon who the memory belonged to. The other dragon, Blue, stepped forward an inch. "I don't know about this Cricket." He said. Cricket laughed. It made Eclipse wonder what Cricket looked like. She was seeing the memory from her eyes. Cricket lunged forward and grabbed Blue's talon. "Don't be a dragonet." She said. "Sundew is waiting for us!" Blue gave in, following Cricket towards a green jungle.
The scene shifted
A bright red cocoon that looked like flaming silk was against one wall of a dark cave. Cricket looked out to show a seashore, the water blue and the sand white. She sighed, and Eclipse could feel her sadness. Suddenly a tearing sound came from behind. Cricket whirled to see a familiar blue talon reaching out. "Come on, Blue." She urged. The dragon from before, Blue, stepped out and flexed magnificent wings. Cricket let out a happy sigh. Then she tacked Blue in a hug, wrapping her wings around him and twining their tails. "I've missed you." She whispered. Blue pressed his snout to hers. "I've missed you too." He said. Eclipse felt a powerful surge of some emotion, an emotion that was familiar to Eclipse. She felt it every time she looked at Sleet. Love. She realized. Cricket untangled herself from Blue. They began talking about dragons named Sundew and Luna, and one named Swordtail. It didn't make sense to Eclipse, so she finally retreated from Crickets memories.
Sleet was looking at her with a worried expression. "What?" Eclipse asked, blushing a little. Now that she knew that she really loved Sleet, it felt strange talking to him. He sighed with relief. "You've been sitting there with your eyes closed for two hours." He said. "I was starting to worry something had gone wrong." Eclipse got up in one smooth move and pressed her snout to Sleets. "I'm fine." She said. "I promise." Sleet gulped, his eyes staring at Eclipses snout. They weren't kissing, but it was still a large sign of affection. Eclipse pulled away. She kept a cool, calm expression, but she was starting to panic. Did Sleet not like her that way? She hoped that wasn't it. He looked shocked, dazed, and a little giddy. Eclipse turned back to the board and sketched an image of the dragon she had seen in the memories. She had inherited her father's skill with art. Sleet looked at it with an awed expression. "What is that?" He asked. Eclipse shrugged. "A dragon. What kind, I don't know. But we can find out." She gestured towards the exit of the Hollow. Sleet shook his head. "I'd rather stay down here." He said, then, much quieter, added. "With you." Eclipse froze. Was she really doing this? She was a serious dragonet, one who did not deal with romance and love and heart. But Sleet was an exception to those rules. Eclipse leaned in. Sleet hesitated, then did the same. He connected their snouts, but Eclipse went further, connecting their lips. Sleet didn't pull away. Instead, he kissed Eclipse back. When she pulled away, her eyes were shining and she felt like nothing she had ever felt before. She grinned. "If my mom finds out about this, she really is going to kill you."
