'Holy macaroni, it worked?'

'It bloody well did!'

'That's incredible!' Namjoon's toes kicked up sand as he paced along the windy beach and gleefully bit his lip. He was over the moon after hearing that his fire theory was a success, but when he came to an abrupt halt and suddenly swivelled around, Jimin's smile faltered. 'Please tell me you didn't leave any evidence for Taehyung to find.'

Jimin cracked a wicked grin. 'I almost did in my haste to get back and update you guys. It was only when I got in the car, I realised my error, and ran straight back inside to clean up the mess. Yunhee would kill me if she saw me dump charred wood and ash in the Han.'

'You used the river as a trashcan?' Jin wailed from where he sat cross legged on the ground. 'You can't do things like that! You're a terrible person, Park Jimin!'

'It was a necessary evil,' Jimin defended as he caught Namjoon sniggering.

The party of four were down by the shore, wrapped up against the afternoon breeze. Jin was huddled against Mee to protect her from the draft, while Namjoon stayed on his feet, too excited to remain in one place after hearing that Jimin had built a campfire that had generated a sphere of light.

'What about this moat?' Namjoon queried. 'I don't recall there being a moat around the stone when we found that photo.'

'That's because there wasn't,' Jimin proclaimed as silver sea foam swirled around his bare feet. 'My best guess is that Taehyung recently tried to move it.'

'Son-of-a-persistent-monkey,' Jin growled while hugging Mee that bit tighter, 'the man just won't give up.'

'Did you try moving it yourself?' Mee asked softly as she trailed patterns on Jin's thigh with her fingertips.

'Yes,' Jimin replied earnestly, 'the stone was loose, but it wouldn't budge.'

At least he could rest a little easier knowing that his enemy had failed, too. Now all he needed to do was create enough heat to open the portal before a storm came and Taehyung invaded his world.

Taking a seat on the deserty floor, Namjoon draped his arms around his knees and looked up at a contemplative Jimin. 'So, we basically need to build a bigger fire for it to open? That's what you're saying?'

Jimin nodded as his dark eyes danced between his three companions. 'That's my belief, yeah. The hotter the area around it, the better. That's why the vortex opened when lightning struck.'

'You do realise that lightning is hotter than the sun, right?' Jin pointed out as he scraped yellow and gold grains from the tops of his feet. 'Producing those sorts of temperatures-'

'Is nigh on impossible, I know,' Jimin sighed, dropping to the beach with a thud, 'but perhaps it doesn't have to be that hot for the portal to fully materialise. The campfire I made produced an orb of light, so a larger fire - such as a bonfire - may be all we need.'
