After the rumour incident, Caliaire and Spock's relationship is forced to be non-existent. Both miss the other and want to go back to how things were, but know that it is not an option.
But after Cali has an argument with his partner, James T. Kirk, who else has he to turn to but his Vulcan professor.
Hopefully the three of them can fix their own mess before the Earth is destroyed by time travelling Romulans.
