Matias Point of View

"You fools, if there was no breach then how did a brain dead person go missing?" Stupids. I have stupids and absolute fools at my beck and call.

My instructions were simple, guard Maya Regio with your eyes open 24*7. Was it too hard to keep an eye on a brain dead person?

How tough is it?

Maya is the main link in everything that happened years ago and is she is out of my hands, then it is an ultimate doom for me.

"We checked all the clips from surveillance camera, investigated all the staff from the hospital and found everything clean. There was no one who entered her ward." One of the fools reported.

"Then how did she go missing? Did she suddenly wake up from her coma after almost three decades and walked out on her own legs like a normal person?" Bria chided massaging her hands with one another.

She is anxious and so are we.

Demetri did not wake up yet, Maya went missing and my illicit secret is out in the public. The wife I loved for years says she has nothing to do with me.

She abandoned me.

"Take our men from warehouses too and search for Maya Regio. I want her back here no matter what. Fail to find her; I will have your heads. I will hunt you all down and kill you." I yelled and when they scurried out of the in fright, I started pacing in the room with anxiety hitting me hard.

"If she did not leave on her own, then who could've taken her?" Piero wondered out loud taking words out of my mouth.

I was wondering the same.

Who would take her?

"Since Demetri's relation with you is out, there must be many who started digging into the issue secretly. But who could have the power to take her so stealthily without even leave clues behind? There is absolute nothing that hinted towards the kidnapper." Bria's words made sense.

Since the news was out, I had gained many enemies suddenly. Many people who are looking to pull me down are all acting on their plans now. But the issue is, they are nothing when compared to the power I hold.

"What did our spy tell you about Arsenio and Valentina's movements?" I asked curiously.

Although I know Arsenio doesn't do things in a risky manner, even though I know he might not be behind this, Piero's doubt on him is reasonable.

Now that Maya is missing, Arsenio might be behind this seeing how stealthy and crafty he always has been.

"Valentina has been spending time with her son and your wife recently while Arsenio has nothing suspicious going on. Surprisingly, all of his minions have clean records. His guards, private investigators, all the people working for him from shadows are all involved in the work unrelated to us."

"That itself is suspicious." Bria commented shaking her head to the information her husband provided.

True. Why are his activities too clean?

Even though he doesn't know any dark secrets about me, when the news about my illicit son came out, he should at least dig into the issue. Secretly though, digging into the matter makes him more believable but he is just so uncaring about the whole situation is a little suspicious indeed.

"What about Valentina's people?" I asked.

"She has two of her men stationed in the hospital to give her daily reports on Demetri's health status, except that she is very much occupied with her business and her son. I heard her son is a troublesome boy so she has her hands full for now. Since she is busy with visiting your wife these days, her subordinates are busy with taking care of the company and business projects."
