Matias Point of View

"This time I'm not with you."

"Although you sound confident, I have to second Piero. Your plan does sound wonderful but it also has many loopholes where you can fall in the grave you dug."

Both Piero and Bria expressed giving me their solemn and doubtful look. They have been in the field as lawyers over decades of time and have good eye for setting and detecting the traps.

Hearing them express their doubt over my final desperate move, the air of confidence around me lessened. They are not wrong but neither am I.

If only I can just kill Arsenio and get this done with but after the assassin of his parents, even as simple as a cough catches him, people are ready to point their finger at me. It is more of a reason I chose to win the throne by commercial setup rather than going to it with a royal status.

"You think I don't know, I know what I'm going to do is risky but this is the only way out there for us. Days following the news about Demetri came out, the very people of our organizations that we trust and keep our hope on miraculous started fighting over to put the blame of getting dragged into mud on each other. Even if we were able to get back the past stand of our business empire, Demetri is still the final link to success – who is on a hospital bed fighting for his life as we speak. Your f**king sister is missing and we still don't know who took and where she is. All our doubts on Arse being the person behind everything that happened to us are cleared out after thorough investigation. Even if Arsenio is really the mastermind behind our miseries, we have no proof on it; heck even our spies close to him gave him a clean chit. My wife and her Dukes' family is the final thread of survival to us."

I breathed out after talking in a high angry tone which brought a series of cough once finished. I'm a healthy person, at least I was. But after encountering misfortunate events one after the another in only few days, the prime stand of my health deteriorated considerably by half.

Closing my eyes for a moment, I took time to breath in and out trying to suppress my anger and worry. The Regio couple looked down at me silently clearly trying to gauge my mood. But I'm done with everything. I know what they think and said is right but with only one last chance, only one way to take, I rather risk taking that way than staying still.

All these years of scheming, plotting against the people who are called family to get what was actually mine, I cannot let someone to dump all my efforts.

No, I'd die than to accept defeat.

I'd rather kill than to die.

With that as a final thought, I made my way to finally put my plan into action; to take my wife on my side and make her back me up no matter what.

All I need to do is give her what she needs and she shall give me what I want.

With flowers in one hand and a smile on lips, I picked her up from Garcia mansion and proceeded to take her grumbling self to the place I specially arranged for her and the Dukes' family.

It was silent but I can see the usual fumes coming out of her nose. She is grumbling furious as usual but bearing with me probably to see what I have to say.

She is not a greedy person. Not for wealth, not for status at least and that is what makes her too blank for my liking. She has no wild ambitions or the heart to support mine.

All she has is the greatest support of her family for me. But then again, there is something I realized recently.

No person is free of greed in this day. They just have something else they desired than what we offered.
