We all know whose point of view is this tack from – the girl which James cheated Betty to. Whether her name is Inez or not (Which later on revealed to be Augusta or Augustine in the Long Pond Studio Sessions Movie), one thing that is for sure is that this track has a point of view of a hopeless romantic.
Although one can either entirely relate or not,some people can relate to her point of view on this song as a hopeless romantic– and that was the angle that I took in writing "LOST IN MEMORY". It's the feeling of loving someone one can't even lose because they are not theirs in the first place. The person that they love is not theirs to lose and somehow, some people can relate to that sad truth.
