In a Single Thread of Gold

(Inspired by Invisible String by Taylor Swift)

The color of the grass was green

Where she used to be seen

Reading as she sat at Centennial Park

Painting her light through the dark

The color of his shirt was teal

And it's just right to be real

As the first work he had been

At a yogurt shop at sixteen

In this time curious time

No signs of this perfect crime

Neither compasses nor clues

And it's cool out of the blues

Where there clues she didn't see?

Thinking how isn't it so pretty?

All along there's a single thread of gold

Tying him to her to a love that never grows old

Bad was the blood of the song

On his first trip, it wasn't wrong

To think he was fated meeting her

As much as the thought of a love forever

Bold was the waitress

On their three year trip, it was flawless

To think the lady thought of her

Looking like an American singer

Time mystical time

A way to this perfect rhyme

Cutting her open, healing her fine

Finding herself falling out of line

Were there clues she didn't see -

To the place she was always meant be?

Isn't it cool to just think–

With him, she saw her future in a blink

In a single thread of gold that pulled her

Out of all the wrong arms, meeting her forever

Right into that dive bar on that fateful moment

Wrapping her past mistakes, filled in enchantment

Chains around her demons

And wool to brave her seasons

In one single thread of gold

She had him to have and hold

Cold was always her axe of steel

To grind for the heartbreak she used to feel

For the boys who gave her heartbreaking moments

Now she's the one sending their babies presents

The leaves were in the color of gold

With all the tales she had him told

As she showed him around Centennial Park

And right there she knew they never lost the spark

The journey indeed was hell

More than she can ever tell

But it brought her heaven

As his arms became her haven

Time wondrous time

Her heart never sublime

Gave her blues and purple-pink skies

In those smiles and magnetic eyes

Isn't it just pretty to think

Just as she was on the brink

She met someone to have and hold

That tied to her in a single thread of gold

That tied to her in a single thread of gold
