Kabanata 32

I'm not satisfied with the first version of Kabanata 32 so, I revised it and here it is! Though, it's still unedited.

TULALA SI Samantha nang bumalik sa kaniyang kuwarto. Umupo siya sa pinaka-gitnang bahagi ng kaniyang kama at binuklat ang manipis na talaarawan ni Acel.

Paulit-ulit na binabasa ni Samantha ang ikalawa sa huling pahina ng libro at napabuntong-hininga na lang sa rami ng nalalaman. Si Elaize na siyang dahilan ng kaguluhan sa pagitan ng bampira na nagmula dahil kay Lucas na kaniyang sinisinta, na napagkamalan si Athalyne na pamangkin ni Eliaze bilang kaniyang nakatakdang babae.

Hindi lang basbas ni Eliaze ang nakuha ng anak ni Athalyne dahil lahat ng diyos at diyosa ng kanilang mundo ay binasbasan ang anak niya, kaya hindi malabo na hindi nila malaman kung sino ang itinakda para kay Lucas na kahit maging si Athalyne, na siyang ina ng itinakda para kay Lucas ay hindi nasilayan ang anak dahil sa kagustuhang makalimot na siyang nagdala sa kaniya patungo sa pamilya ng mga Marco.

Napanguso si Samantha at isinara ang libro't tinabi sa maliit na cabinet sa tabi ng kaniyang kama at saka humiga. "Her life is the end of her," aniya at napatitig sa kulay asul na mga kristal na nakalutang sa ere.

"She..." nahulog ang isang butil ng luha mula sa mata niya, "...haven't see her mother for a long time... it must be hard for her...".

She closes her eyes, "a winter indeed."

HERO CROUCHED a bit to fix Winter's icy blue hair. He, then, smiled when she snored and sit back on his seat.

"Do you love her?" Jiane asked him when she noticed Hero doing random things for Winter.

"I have a mate."

"Ah..." Jiane nodded and sipped on her teacup. "What if...just what if," she uttered and Hero turned his gaze on her. "What if she's your mate?"

Hero really sighed and cannot help but to hope that Winter is really for him. He glanced the young lady and sighed again. "If she's my mate...I'll be bended down on my knees."

"You what?" Jiane blinked.

"I am the only part of royal family that rarely bows to other as a sign of respect," Hero said, his eyes were on Winter, and Jiane can't help but to feel sad when Hero looked at Winter softly. "And when I bow, I'll make it like I don't care about that person because, I really don't. And if ever Winter is my mate, she's the first one that will make me bow 90 degrees and kneel down on the ground, whether it is hot, cold, muddy, wet or dry and clean."

"And if she's not?"

Hero lowered his head and heavily sighed. "I'll cry," he said that made Jiane eyes wide opened.

Hero doesn't know why he said that but, if Winter is not really his mate, he'll definitely cry while begging the gods and goddess to make her — Winter — as his mate. He doesn't want to offend his 'real' mate but, what he can do? He's falling for Winter even she's cold and hard as a rock. He love Winter first before his mate come and he's hoping, whoever his mate is, he hopes that she'll understand him. Because god knows how important Winter is in his life.

"I hope she's not," Jiane mumbled and stared at Hero. "Because I'm scared what will you do once she vanish."

"WHAT DID YOU TWO TALK ABOUT?" Raide asked Hero and pursed his lips.

Jiane already sent them home and now, they are on the way to their headquarters.

"Mates," Hero answered him shortly.
