Naomi Song was ten years old when she was kidnapped. Before she can fully wrap her head around what has happened she's involved in a risky experiment with a only one in four survival rate. As a result the 125 survivors each develop a unique power. As a survivor her name is changed to Utau. She's relieved when she finds out her new friend Shin survived the experiment as well. As a result though he developed a dangerous ability that kills anyone he touches.

They're thrown into harsh training classes to learn everything from multiple languages to armed combat. After two months a new Curse Carrier boy is thrown into the mix. The hyper intelligent eight year old Kami who seems to be friends with Shin.

However the two appear to be hiding something from Utau.
