Her father arrived so she carefully stood up from her seat, taking one last look over to where Happy was now working on another vehicle, then slid into the passenger seat. The rest of the day she tried very hard to get the sound of his deep, raspy voice out of her head. She could imagine the things he'd whisper in her ear as he took her. If she could have just one night with this man she would have all she needed to finish her book she knew it! Somehow, Isabella made it through all her meetings that day and finally left the building. Her father gave her a ride home and told her that her mother would pick her up for work the next morning.
Happy's day wasn't as calm as hers was. Shortly after she left, Clay called Jax, Tig, Chibs, and himself to head out with him to take care of some business with the Nords. It ended with a barroom brawl style fight and threatening words from both parties. Clay decided they'd teach Darby a lesson and return that night to deal with them once and for all. Opie set his explosives at one of Darby's meth labs after the rest of his brothers took out the few goons who were there cooking. Happy was beaten, bloody, bruised, and wanted something to make his day better. The only thing he could think of was her. Before his brain could tell him it was a bad idea, he was walking up to her front door to knock.
She stumbled out of bed not knowing who could be knocking on her door in the middle of the night. Opening it up, her eyes widened. He was bruised and bloody but there stood Happy. She had so many questions as he stood there looking her up and down. "Holy fuck..." he muttered as he eyed up the object of his desires in what she wore to bed each night. Her face flushed from what he'd let slip as they stood there staring at one another. She could tell he'd gotten into one hell of an altercation going by the blood and dirt on his face and clothes. He just wanted to burn the image before him into his mind figuring she'd never want to see him after seeing his mugshot earlier.
"What brings you here in the middle of the night?" She asked, still looking over his face.
"I...I just..." He sighed, "I just needed to see you."
His words took her aback as he stepped towards her. He towered over her but she liked it. She'd always loved the height difference between her and really tall men. It made her feel more protected whenever she was in their arms.
"Uh, come in. Would you like a cup of hot tea?" She asked as she moved to allow him into her home.
"No. Thanks."
She swallowed not knowing what to say to him.
"I'm sorry for bothering you in the middle of the night like this. It's...you see...it's been a rough night for me. I just...I had to see you. To make things better."
Once again his words took her aback as they stared at one another. What could she say to something like that?
"Come on, let's get you cleaned up." She reached out and grabbed his hand pulling him through her condo and into her master bathroom.
