"Happy tells us you're thinking of getting your motorcycle license." Jax stated.
"I've found his lifestyle interesting. I'd like to get a bike of my own someday." Michael replied.
"How does the missus feel about that?" Clay inquired.
"She wants nothing to do with it. (Michael laughed) She thinks it's crazy for me to get a bike at my age." Michael told the group.
"Nonsense! Lots of older men get bikes and are perfectly fine." Clay stated.
"She won't stop me from getting one, don't misunderstand me. She just thinks it's crazy that I want to try and ride. 'You're not coordinated enough to keep it upright' she says." Michael huffed.
"Nah, it's easy. I'm sure Happy has been teaching you well." Jax replied.
"He's been teaching me a lot about motorcycles. I think I shocked him when I expressed my interest in them, to be honest." Michael chuckled.
"I wasn't expecting it." Happy stated.
"I'd imagine so! You don' seem the type t' want t' be on a bike." Chibs exclaimed making a few of his brothers laugh.
"I know. But I want to know the appeal. To have a new experience, something I don't get often. (He chuckled again)" Michael stated.
"Well being on a bike isn't for everyone." Clay told him.
"It's not like I'd be riding everywhere on it. More of a leisurely rider I guess. On the weekends type of thing." Michael shrugged.
"That's ok." Jax smiled at him.
"How are ya doin' after takin' three bullets?" Chibs questioned, moving the conversation away from bikes and riding.
"I didn't think I'd survive. Three bullets to the chest is not something most people survive from what my doctor told me. None hit anything vital which is a miracle in itself." Michael replied.
"Aye. You're a lucky man." Chibs noted.
"That I am. My doctor told me I might've bled to death if it hadn't been for Isabella calling 9-1-1. I don't even know how she did it with her wound." Michael stated as he thought about that day, "The girl amazes me sometimes."
"We were shocked when we were told she'd been shot. Couldn't figure out who would've wanted to hurt her." Bobby stated.
"I barely registered who it was before I passed out. I'm glad she recognized him. Isabella doesn't make enemies." Michael told the group earning a head nod from his son-in-law.
The discussion turned from the shooting to some of the club parties SAMCRO had each Friday and Saturday night. Hearing some of the tales of the biker parties made Michael laugh. Clay was sure the good, Christian man would find their tales distasteful and inappropriate. Instead, he found Michael laughing and making jokes, albeit not crude ones like Tig was, with them. He wasn't as uppity as his suit and tie gave him the appearance of being. Everyone began to relax as they sat around in the back yard of Happy's in-laws smoking and joking around.
The Killah was relieved to see everyone getting along as well as they were. He hoped Tig's vulgar humor wasn't causing his father-in-law to be uncomfortable around them despite seeming relaxed. Happy had been worried about how his in-laws were going to take his brothers but so far things seemed to be going smoothly. He remained quiet as his brothers chatted with Michael and got to know him a little better. Clay was taken aback to hear Michael was a property developer and had various properties all over the US. Jax wondered how much money Happy's father-in-law actually made with the deals he made.
