Two BMW's pulled into the lot a few minutes apart making Clay sigh. He hated BMW drivers. They always thought they knew what was going on with their cars and were usually uptight assholes who treated everyone else like scum. Michael stepped out of the first BMW and Isabella stepped out of the second one. Happy's jaw hit the floor as he stared at his woman. Tig's overly sexual comment earned a hard glare by Happy and a smack to the back of the head by Chibs. Juice was, for once, smart enough to keep his comments to himself. Michael and Isabella headed straight into the office where Gemma was working on paperwork.
"You wanted to see me, Mrs. Teller-Morrow?" Michael stated.
"Please, call me Gemma." She stated, "When is the construction going to be finished?"
"It should be done within the next few weeks. Is there something wrong?" Isabella questioned.
Gemma explained what she was thinking about with her lot and his making Michael rub his chin. He promised he'd talk to his general contractor about the proposed changes and see what could be done. Gemma was happy he didn't seem to mind the extra work that would have to be done to close off the rest of her lot from his leaving only the driveway and gate between their lots. Isabella just stood there silently listening to the back-and-forth between Gemma and her father about the lots. After the meeting, Michael bid Gemma goodbye.
"Have a good day, Gemma." Isabella flashed a friendly smile before turning and following her father next door to his gas station.
Michael and Isabella greeted the general contractor cordially before getting down to business. Michael wanted things to be done right but was wanting things to go a little faster as well. The contractor said he'd do what he could to make that happen. Michael thanked him and told him what a great job he was doing so far. The pair left the construction site and headed back to T-M where their cars were still parked. She looked around and caught Happy's eye before she climbed into her car. He could feel the stirring in his jeans as his eyes swept over her petite body. Looking at her in that skin-tight dress, he could only imagine what she looked like naked. The one night being as close to that as he was going to get for a long while.
Happy slipped away from his brothers as the two BMW's left their lot. Slipping his phone out of his pocket, he thought about what to say to her. Although she always looked good no matter what she wore, there was something about that skin-tight dress that got to him. And his brothers. He didn't want to be rude or crude. He didn't want to be overtly sexual. He wanted her to know how good he thought she looked but also to understand what she did to him in that dress. Finally figuring he had the right words to tell her, he scrolled down to her name so he could text her.
Happy: You look amazing today. You really got me with that skin tight dress 😉
He knew it would probably take her a little while to respond since she was driving back to her office. Sliding his phone back into his pocket, he got back to work hoping focusing on the engine he'd been working on before her arrival would distract him from what she looked like that day. Just as he was getting rather frustrated with the engine, his phone vibrated in his pocket. He set his wrench down and slipped it out of his pocket. Isabella had responded to his text making his heart stop briefly.
Isabella: Thank you so much! I wasn't trying to tease but I'm glad you like it! ☺️☺️☺️
Isabella: would you care to come to my parents' house on Sunday night for dinner?
Happy: I'd love to. See you then
He slipped his phone back in his pocket with a smile. She was always so polite and it was adorable. Happy finally finished with the engine and got the car fixed. He quickly let Gemma know before moving it out of the bay so the next vehicle could be moved in. Clay called for church so all the patched members wiped their hands, took their work shirts off, and slipped back into their kuttes before walking into the clubhouse then into their chapel. Happy wondered what was going on as he sat at his seat. Everyone else found their seats and got settled as Clay lit up a cigar.
"Miss Baker? I have those papers you asked for." Isabella's assistant stated after knocking on her door.
"Thank you, Mary." Isabella smiled as she took the papers from the slightly older woman.
Isabella had been tasked with working out how to promote the new gas station and diner. She thought about putting an advertisement in the local newspaper as well as putting up flyers about the grand opening. She started social media accounts for the station as well as a Google Reviews account. She found a good company to start a digital loyalty program with and had a few posters printed out showing how to sign up for it. After a little research, Isabella decided that on two of their six pumps, they would revive full-service fueling. It was unique and no one else in the area was doing it so she was sure it would attract business and keep regulars coming back.
Michael hired people to man the pumps and was firm in what he wanted out of them. Both men had been homeless when they were hired and were now living in a pay-by-the-week motel. Each were eager to please their new boss making Michael sure they would do a good job. When his daughter came to him with the idea of reviving the full-service option, he was originally against it. She was very persuasive in her argument and he ultimately gave in. She decided to start a promotion in the store of buying two snacks you get a bottled drink for free. Each pump had the advertisement for the promotion up where their customers could see.
When the outside construction had finally finished, Gemma wandered over to check it out. Things were really shaping up and she was curious as to how things were going to go when it officially opened up. It was still at least a month away from opening day. Michael had instructed all of their new employees to recommend the Teller-Morrow Auto repair shop to any customers who they heard needing auto work done. They all promised they would. Isabella got their social media caught up on their promotions for when the store officially opened. Michael was pleased with what his daughter had done for him.
That Sunday night found Happy knocking on the Baker front door once again. He brought another bottle of wine and hoped it would go with whatever Mrs. Baker had cooked for them that night. Michael opened the door with a smile, much like his daughter, and welcomed Happy back into their home. The Tacoma Killah handed over the wine making Michael smile and head into the kitchen. He told his wife that Happy had brought a bottle of wine for dinner making the elder Baker woman smile and thank him for his generosity. Isabella appeared from a hallway and smiled at her suitor.
Happy was a little more at ease during this visit than his first. Michael was a little more curious about Happy's role in the MC and some of their other activities. The assassin didn't want to discuss it but didn't want to lie either. With a slight shrug he simply stated he was just a member of the MC and they didn't really do much besides go on runs, do some charity runs when Gemma planned charity events for the town, and hang out at their clubhouse. Michael just nodded, appearing to be satisfied with his answer. Happy sighed with relief that Michael wasn't digging for more information on the MC and hoped it wouldn't be brought up again.
Kay finally called the two men to dinner earning a sigh from Happy. They walked into the dining room to see Kay and Isabella bringing the rest of the dinner to the table. Spaghetti, salad, and garlic bread were on the menu this evening and Happy couldn't wait to dig in. His stomach had been making noises on the way over. Michael said grace, as he had done the last time he'd eaten at the Baker residence, then food was passed around.
