Isabella woke up the next morning and groaned. Her chest hurt and she wasn't sure her husband had come home the previous evening. She rolled out of bed and slowly made her way into the kitchen where she found Happy at the stove making breakfast. The sight made her stop in her tracks and just watch him. He stood at the stove in some sweat pants with SAMCRO written down the sides of the legs scrambling eggs and tending to bacon. Normally she'd be the one cooking but he knew she wasn't up for it. 'Isn't he the sweetest man alive?' she smiled to herself before walking further into the kitchen to grab a cup of coffee.
"We're not gonna have to go on lockdown after all. We've taken care of everything." Happy told her over his shoulder, "When are you scheduled to go back to work?"
"I'll be out the rest of this week. I see my doctor on Monday to see if I'm ready to go back to work or not." She replied, "I may be home longer if the pain doesn't subside more."
"Being shot is serious. Don't strain yourself just because you think you should be healed up at a specific time period. Let your body heal on its own." Happy told her.
"Ok."
She moved to sit at the kitchen table and wait for him to bring her breakfast. Happy was quiet as he brought two plates to the table. She thanked her husband for breakfast before digging in. It still hurt to move but she knew she could take another pain pill right after breakfast. Once they'd finished eating, she tried to clean up but he told her to go sit down in the living room while he cleaned up. She leaned up to kiss his cheek before moving into the bedroom to dress in some black lounge pants and a tank top. She wasn't going into work so she figured wearing something more comfortable would be best during the day.
"You need me, you call me. I'll be at the shop all day." Happy told her.
"I will." She promised before he leaned down and kissed her forehead.
She watched him leave the condo before grabbing her laptop and booting it up. There was still work she had to catch up on. Mid-morning, her mother called to check up on her and see how she was doing. They chatted for awhile about how she was feeling, how Happy was helping, and of her slowly catching up on work. It pleased Kay to hear that her son-in-law was actually helping out with household stuff while her daughter was "down". Isabella laughed and said he helped all the time around the house even before she had been shot. After a while, the pair hung up so Isabella could get back to work.

Isabella was itching to get her doctor's appointment over with. She wanted the green-light to go back to work and get her life back into her normal routine again. Michael wanted to see how much damage had been done to his office. Kay had refused to let him go while he was still recovering. Isabella promised her father that she'd take care of all the repairs and renovations as they were needed if he wasn't allowed to go back to work as quickly as she was. Their receptionist had called Michael and asked when the office was opening back up and that she hoped she still had a job with the firm. Michael reassured her if she still wanted her job, it was still hers.
Kay drove her daughter and husband to their respective doctors' offices. She had to drop Isabella off before taking Michael since their appointments were so close together. Isabella sat there quietly, knee bouncing up and down as she looked around the waiting room. Once she was back in the room with her doctor, they talked about her range of motion, her pain levels, and how often she was having to take her prescribed pain medication. He took an x-ray and wanted to see it before he told her anything. She sighed as she was returned to her room to await the x-ray to be developed and interpreted. All she wanted to know was whether or not it was ok for her to return to work!
After what felt like an eternity to the young woman, her doctor finally entered the room. Her x-ray looked good. "Doesn't appear to be any long-lasting damage. You're very lucky." her doctor told her making her let out the breath she'd been holding. He told her to continue the pain medication as needed, no heavy lifting, pulling, shoving, anything like that. Otherwise, she was free to head back to work. She sighed with relief and thanked him. They shook hands before she left the room.
She called her mother to let her know she was out of her appointment and that she'd been given the go-ahead to go back to work. Kay was happy for her daughter and told her she'd be there shortly. Her father was still in his appointment and it wasn't looking like he was going to get to go back to work quite as fast. Isabella frowned as she stood outside her doctor's office and awaited for her mother and father. She had a seat on a bench near the door and soaked in the sunshine. Since the shooting, she hadn't spent much time outside and was relishing in the warm sun.
Half an hour later, her mother pulled up. Her father wasn't in a very good mood as Isabella climbed into the backseat of her mother's car. She apologized to her father as she cautiously slipped her seatbelt on. Kay took the pair to a restaurant to get a bite to eat before dropping Isabella off at her condo. Michael gave his daughter a list of things that she would need to do to get the office back to what it had been. Repairing any bullet holes. Fixing the furniture. Replacing furniture if needed. Repainting the entire reception area if it was needed. Isabella promised things would look like the incident had never happened by the time she was done.
After lunch, Kay dropped off her daughter at her condo. She hugged and kissed both her parents before walking up the stairs to her residence. Unlocking the door, she stepped inside and slipped her shoes off. It was a great relief that she would be able to get back to work and start back with a normal routine again. She was starting to feel lazy working from home in loungewear! She had dinner almost ready by the time Happy returned from work that night. He didn't bother taking his kutte off like he normally did.
"I have a run to do tonight. I'll probably get in late." He told her as he grabbed himself a beer, "How are you feeling?"
"Still hurting some but got the OK from my doctor to go back to work. Still no heavy lifting, pulling, that sort of thing but I don't do that anyways." She smiled.
"Glad to hear it." He retorted before moving to sit in the living room.
Unser had wanted a protection run so Opie, Jax, and himself had all volunteered to go. Happy wanted to put back some extra cash in case they needed it. His wife made good money at her job. She made good money selling books. She had a trust fund that she'd never touched that was still growing interest. He wanted to provide for his wife and their household and this was how he knew to do it. She called Happy to dinner so he stood and took his beer to the dining table. He thanked his wife for cooking and told her how great it looked. She smiled as she filled her plate.
