Isabella worried greatly about Happy while he was gone. She didn't sleep as well worrying about his safety while he away. If something happened while he was in Charming, she was close enough by she could see him and tend to him. If something happened while he was up in Washington, what could she do? She even had trouble concentrating on her writing while he was away and got very little done. As he promised, however, he did text her each night asking how her day was and every so often telling her how much he missed her. It always made her smile when she saw that. She happily told him about her day and that she missed him greatly too.
It was a long two weeks for both. Finally, the issue had been resolved with little blood shed on either side. Happy was thrilled to finally be getting on the road home. Kozik teased him about why he wasn't touching the crow eaters who were so anxious to get a piece of the heavily tattooed biker but the assassin just grunted angrily and slammed his shot back. Chibs was proud of his brother for being faithful to Isabella. He was taking courting her seriously. The trio of bikers spent one last night in Tacoma before heading out for home early the next morning. Happy couldn't wait to get back to Charming and to see his girl again. He'd missed her more than he thought he really would and thought about her constantly.
The drive back was spent with him fantasizing about what he wanted to do to her although he knew it was going to be quite a while before he could actually touch her like that. They had to head to the clubhouse first to give their account of what happened in Tacoma. It was early evening and all Happy wanted to do was spend it with his girlfriend. Chibs told Clay, Jax, and Bobby everything with Opie and Happy giving their two cents when needed. Clay just nodded his head silently as the Scotsman spoke happy with how things went down. He dismissed the three bikers so Happy took the opportunity to head over to Isabella's place.
Not wanting to cook, she'd ordered some pizza and wings. When there came a knock at the door, she thought it was her dinner arriving. Upon opening it up she found Happy standing there looking incredibly tired but smiling at her. She quickly threw her arms around his neck as he slid his arms around her waist. He had missed her terribly and was glad to be back in town so he could see her again. She was hoping he'd have let her know they were on their way back so she could have made dinner and had it waiting on him. They stood there for a moment or two before pulling away. He quickly followed her back inside.
"I wasn't expecting you or else I'd have made dinner myself. I'm waiting on a pizza and wings to arrive." She chuckled as she sat down on the couch.
"It's ok. I'm just happy to be able to see you again." He confessed making her smile warmly at him.
"I've missed you." She told him earning a head nod in response, "How did your business go?"
"Better than expected. No one got hurt so that's always a plus." He chuckled at the end, "Sorry it took so long to get back. We had a lot of things to do while we were up there."
"It's ok. I'm just glad you're ok and you made it back safely." She replied, "You must be exhausted from the long drive back though!"
"It doesn't matter. I just had to come over and see you." He looked at her intensely before a knock was heard at her door.
"Excuse me. That must be my dinner." She stated as she stood up.
Just as she expected, it was the pizza delivery guy. She happily handed over her money and took her food. He watched as she walked into the dining room and set the two boxes down on the table. She brought two plates and two glasses of tea to the table then nodded towards herself making Happy smile. As they ate dinner, she asked about the ride up to Tacoma and the ride back. He smiled inwardly and told her the best he could about the long ride. He asked her about her book, her work at her father's firm and how her parents were doing. She thought it was nice that he was asking about her parents and gladly told him about how they were doing. It was nice catching up over dinner, she thought, but wanted to cuddle and watch a movie afterwards.
He was exhausted but agreed to watching a movie with her. Half-way through, she realized he'd drifted off to sleep making her smile. He'd already slipped out of his boots so she gently took his arm from around her shoulders and got up from the couch to fetch a blanket for him. Once she had him covered up, she turned the TV off, the lamp off, and headed down the hall to her bedroom. When he woke up the next morning, he realized he was still in her condo and was laying on the couch. The smell of bacon and coffee wafted to his nose. He threw the blanket off him and walked into the kitchen. He stopped and looked her over as she was making breakfast for the two of them.
"Coffee cups are in the cabinet above the coffee maker." She stated when she realized he was standing there staring at her.
"You look cute." He stated, "I like the top. Kind of sexy but sweet all at the same time."
Her face tinted at the compliment, "Thanks. Breakfast should be done soon."
She slid two fried eggs onto each plate as well as some bacon then walked to the dining room table. She set one plate in front of him before having a seat herself. They ate in silence before starting their day. He needed to get back to Teller-Morrow and she needed to get back to her cushy office job. Before he left her condo, he asked when he could see her again. She smiled up at him and said she looked forward to their Friday night date. He nodded in understanding before kissing her one last time. She watched him climb onto his bike then back out of his space before shutting the door to finish getting ready for work.
Her father noticed an extra pep in her step so he stopped her to ask about it. With a wide smile, she explained that Happy was back in town and that he'd stopped by her place the previous evening. Michael asked how things in Tacoma had gone so she told him what Happy had told her earning a head nod in response before letting her know there were several meetings that were scheduled for her for that day. She kissed his cheek before walking down to her office. Chibs noted Happy seemed more relaxed than when he'd left the previous evening. He finally got to see his girl after two weeks of being away! Happy didn't say anything to anyone as he clocked in and immediately got to work on a car Gemma assigned him.
