Happy got a message out through another prisoner that the Sons were contacts with to the club. He wanted the to check on her more frequently and give her any help she needed even if she refused their help. The Killah hoped his message would get to his brothers. He didn't want his pregnant 'ol lady moving heavy bedroom furniture out of the guest bedroom and trying to put together baby furniture all by herself. Not knowing what all she planned for the baby's room, he didn't want her over-working herself or painting or anything else that could be harmful for her while pregnant.
Tig was surprised when a car pulled up a few days after the last visitor's day. A guy walked straight to the clubhouse and asked to speak to any member of the Sons. Tig set his beer down and walked over. He looked the guy over and didn't see a guy or any type of weapon. He didn't seem to the be type to just stroll into a biker clubhouse either so Tig was quite curious as to why he'd be there.
"Can I help you?" Tig questioned.
"I have a message from Happy. Said to give to any of his brothers." The guy replied as he handed a note over.
Tig took it from his hands and read it over.
"Check on Isabella more frequently. Help her with whatever she needs even if the stubborn ass refuses help. She's in a delicate situation."
"Is there anything else?" Tig looked at the guy.
"I was just sent to bring this message." The guy stated.
"Then you can go now." Tig told him earning a head nod.
Tig sat back down and wondered what his brother meant that his 'ol lady was in a delicate situation. If she'd been hurt he hoped she would have told the club. As he tried to wrack his brain of situations, Opie sat down with him. Tig passed the message along to him so that Opie could help do as Happy requested. The SAA knew Clay wouldn't be checking up on her so it was up to him and Opie. The bearded beanie wearing biker also wondered what Happy had meant by her being in a delicate situation.
"Perhaps we should go talk to her this evening after work." Tig suggested, "Get the real story of what's going on."
"Sounds good." Opie replied.
Isabella still hadn't told her parents about her pregnancy. She planned to at the next Sunday dinner. When she'd told them about Happy going to prison, they were shocked, a little angry, and what she thought was disappointment. She promised she'd be fine but now being pregnant she was sure they were going to have a fit with her being all alone while he was locked up. Now her anxiety was about telling her parents about the pregnancy. She had paid some of her neighbors to move out her guest bedroom furniture into her storage facility on the premises. She paid them for their help making them all thank her profusely. $100 for moving furniture for teenagers was about right for their labor she figured.
One evening she had a ladder and was taping up the molding in the guest room so she could start painting the walls for the nursery when there came a knock at the door. She didn't hear it because she had her music up too loud. When there came no answer, Tig tried to open the door. It was locked so he took out some tools and picked the lock so they could enter. The house seemed undisturbed other than the sound of her music playing. Each had their gun out as they slowly made their way through the condo. Opie had never been to Isabella's condo before and noted it was exactly as he envisioned her living space to be.
They came to the end of the hallway. Opie opened the master bedroom door while Tig opened the guest bedroom. He found her standing on a ladder trying to tape molding. She was clearly getting frustrated with it. Opie moved to see what Tig was looking at. The pair looked at one another before Tig made their presence known.
"What are you doing, Doll?" Tig questioned.
She jumped not expecting anyone to be in her condo and nearly fell off the ladder. Tig and Opie rushed into the room to make sure she was ok.
"I'm fine. You startled me." She told me, "How did you get in?"
"I picked the lock. Now answer my question." Tig replied.
"I'm preparing to paint the walls." She simply stated.
"Why?" Opie asked.
"Why not?" She countered, "Why are you guys here?"
"Happy wanted someone to come check on you." Tig said.
"I'm fine and don't need a babysitter." She huffed making Tig smirk at her.
"You'll need help painting the walls if you want it to go quickly." Tig pointed out.
"I'm fine doing this by myself." She told them.
"I have a question." Opie said.
"Ok. What is it?" She looked over at the bearded biker.
"Happy said you were in a delicate condition. Mind telling us what that is?" Opie asked making her sigh.
"Look, he's the only one who knows. My parents don't even know yet. (Tig and Opie looked at one another before looking back at her) I'm about four weeks pregnant." She told them.
"Yeah, you're not painting this room at all. The fumes aren't good for you. We'll do it for you." Opie immediately stated.
"I'll get the prospects to help as well. Will make things go faster." Tig added in.
"Now wait a damn minute here! I can handle a little painting all by myself!" She huffed.
"Sweetheart, this isn't up for debate. I wouldn't let my late wife paint the nursery when she was pregnant either for the same reasons. It's not good for you or the baby to be breathing in the paint fumes. With the four of us working, we'll be able to knock out all the painting pretty quick." Opie explained making her cross her arms over her chest.
"If your so insistent on painting the room then I'll make you dinner for all your hard work." She told them making Tig smile at her.
"We'll come by Saturday to get started. We won't interfere with your visit to Stockton." Tig told her.
"I usually leave around nine am." She told them.
"We'll be here before then. You have all the supplies you need?" Opie asked.
"You'll probably need more paint brushes since there's more of you painting but I have all the rest that I need." She said.
Opie just nodded. Tig made her promise not to doanything to the nursery before they arrived on Saturday. She rolled her eyesmaking him smirk at her once again. She escorted the two men to the door beforebidding them a good night. Although she had intended on doing the work herself, she was glad to have help in making the nursery what she wanted it to be. She wasn'tlooking forward to putting the nursery furniture together when she purchased itbut figured the bikers would wind up helping with that too. Especially if theywere going to be "checking up on her" as frequently as she thought they'd be.
