After breakfast, Tig and Chibs left the couple alone. She cleaned up the kitchen from breakfast while he made a call to his mother. It had been a while since they had chatted and she knew he was itching to head up to Bakersfield for a visit. Once she had the kitchen cleaned up, she went to go get dressed for the day. She had some grocery shopping to do and she wanted to get it out of the way so she could spend the rest of her Sunday snuggled up to her husband watching movies. He didn't want her being out by herself so he escorted her to the grocery store after he was off the phone with his mother. Isabella just shook her head but remained quiet knowing she wouldn't win the argument.
Having a list of what they needed, she headed straight for what she needed. Happy simply strode along behind her as she walked down the aisles putting things into the cart. Not a word was spoken as his 6'1 frame followed her around the store. They were getting odd stares which always amused the young woman. Once she had all she'd come for, she made her way to the check-out line. As they were waiting to pay out, his cell went off. It irritated him that church was being called. It meant he had to leave her alone. She promised she'd be fine and that all she was going to do was go home, unload the groceries, and work on her latest novel.
He made her promise to call him if anything happened. She leaned up and kissed his cheek before he took off for the clubhouse. The cashier watched the exchange with curiosity knowing the reputation Happy had. She paid for her groceries then hauled them to her car. It was an uneventful morning for her. Once she'd put everything away, she walked into her office to get back to working on her third installment of the "Handsome and Haunting" series. To her surprise it was turning out to be even more popular than her other series. She always hoped her books were well received but people seemed to go crazy over the new series which made her laugh. If they only knew the main male character was based off a real life biker that she had somehow caught the attention of and married!
Isabella got caught up in her writing that shedidn't realize it was past time to make dinner. With a sigh, she looked throughtheir take-out menus and decided on ordering some wings for dinner. As shewaited for her dinner to arrive, she turned on the TV and found a movie towatch while she ate. Happy hadn't called or texted so she figured he was busywith some club business. There came a knock at the door so she got up, grabbedher money, and looked through the peephole before opening the door. She wasvery thankful Happy had his brothers fix the door that morning. She paid forher meal and took her food before shutting and locking the door.
She was in the middle of eating when Happy returned home. She looked him over as best as she could as he past her to head to the bedroom. There didn't appear to be any injuries she could see so she hoped her husband was alright. He headed straight into the shower to clean up before eating. While Happy was in their room, Kay began texting her daughter about the BBQ. She wanted to do it the following Saturday and asked if she'd tell Gemma for her and that everything would be provided for whoever did show up.
"Who's that?" Happy asked as he emerged from the bedroom.
"Mom. Wants to have the BBQ this coming Saturday. Everything will be provided. Wants me to let Gemma know." Isabella replied.
"I'll talk to the guys. Most won't turn down a free meal." He stated making her giggle.
"I can't wait." She said earning a raised eyebrow in return.
"Get a plate and get some dinner." Isabella didn't bother to reply to the unasked question.

"Are you sure you want all these bikers at your parents' place?" Happy inquired as they prepared to head over to Isabella's parents' house for the BBQ.
"I'm positive! I want my parents to get to know the people I've accepted as friends." She replied as she strapped the helmet on.
"Ok." Happy shrugged as he started the engine.
He insisted she ride with him to the BBQ. She was his 'ol lady and they had no kids. There was no reason to take separate vehicles. To Happy's relief, they were the first ones to arrive. She slid off his bike, took the helmet off, and walked to the front door. She entered and called out for her mother. Kay exited the kitchen and hugged her daughter then turned to hug her son-in-law. Happy was a bit nervous at how things were going to go. Most of his brothers weren't known for their manners and his in-laws were good, Christian people who didn't smoke, cuss, or drink. Well, except a glass of wine with dinner on occasion.
"Everyone knows what time to be here?" Kay asked.
"I gave Gemma all the information you gave me. They should be here shortly." Isabella replied.
"Ah, Happy! It's nice to see you." Michael said as he entered the living room from the back yard.
"Michael, it's good to see you too." Happy shook his father-in-law's hand.
"So. We finally get to meet some of the other members of your club." Michael stated.
"Dad! No interrogations, ok? I just want everyone to get to know one another a little bit. To get to know people I call friends." Isabella sighed.
"Ok, ok. I'll be nice." Michael raised his hands up.
"Is there anything I can help with?" Isabella turned to her mother as Michael asked Happy to join him on the back patio.
"The pies need to be put in the oven and I'm finishing up with the potato salad." Kay replied.
The two women were in the kitchen finishing up with lunch while Michael and Happy were on the back patio where the grille was set up. Michael was grilling chicken and hot sausages for their guests as his wife made everything else. Michael got to talking with Happy about riding and of getting his license. It made Happy smirk to know his father-in-law wanted to ride a motorcycle. It was almost comical to think about but the biker told him he'd help in any way he could. Kay wanted to know how her daughter was doing after the kidnapping. That was the last thing Isabella wanted to talk about but she told her mother she was fine and that there was no permanent damage.
There came a knock at the door making Isabella excited. She told her mother she'd get it before practically skipping to the door. Upon opening it up, she found Gemma with several of the bikers and their 'ol ladies with her. She greeted everyone and welcomed them to her parents' home. Gemma stepped inside and began looking around. It was a pretty fancy house she noted as Kay left the kitchen. Isabella introduced everyone to her mother making her mother smile as she did. She welcomed them to her home and told them Happy and her husband were out on the back patio and to make themselves comfortable.
Gemma, Tara, and Lyla followed Kay and Isabella back into the kitchen while the men walked out to the back where they'd been told their host and brother were at. Happy stood up to give everyone a man-hug as they came outside. Michael introduced himself before Happy introduced his brothers. He welcomed them to their home with a warm smile. Gemma told Kay what a beautiful home she had earning a wide smile and a thanks in return. The SAMCRO Queen asked if there was anything they could do to help but Kay said they had everything almost ready. The conversation began flowing a little easier when Kay asked how everyone met their spouses.
