*couple hours later*
Kathy's POV
This was the week we all dreaded. The week where we come back from winter break and are forced to sit with our own houses for dinner. At least we have some of our friends in each house.
Me, I had Rose, Roxanne, and Nova with me in Ravenclaw.
Ric, Cierra, Albus, and Damon were all in Slytherin.
James, Hugo, Lily, and Fred were all in Gryffindor.
Louis was the only Hufflepuff among us, but he had made a couple friends, though none as close as the ones in our friend group.
We all basically grew up together, we had family dinners, had friends over, all the constant gatherings made it so that we would all be close friends. Our parents didn't want any of us growing up alone, especially the Weasley's, family and friendship are very important values in all of our families.
As I twirled some spaghetti around on my plate, I couldn't help but glance at Damon from time to time. I mean... the Poconos. That happened in the Poconos but as soon as we go back home we're back to the usual: you're the manwhore you are, just like my brother, and I'm the one you pay little to no attention to. He turned around and his eyes met mine and we looked at each other for a moment, until I felt arms wrap around me from behind and I looked up, smiling when I saw my cousin, James.
"Hey Jay." I smiled and leaned into the hug.
"Hi dumbass." He teased and backed away when I tried to hit his stomach. He gently pushed Nova over just enough to sit down next to me and she rolled her eyes at him when he smiled at her innocently. He took the fork I had with spaghetti on it and pretended to feed it to me like an airplane, mocking me. I rolled my eyes and took the fork from his hand.
"I can eat for myself, thank you very much."
"You can? I'm surprised, you're still such a baby." He mocked me in a baby voice and I scoffed.
"You're a Gryffindor. You're basically a grown up child." I challenged.
"And you're a Ravenclaw. A grown up who still looks like a child." I flipped him off at his joke about my height. My mom's 5'2, what do you expect? Ric got the tall gene from dad. He popped one of my chips into his mouth and left my table to go back to Gryffindor with his small victory still in hand. My mother's Malorie Granger-Malfoy, that victory of his won't last long.
I continued eating with my friends, except Nova had been quieter around me ever since before the Poconos, which is unusual for her because that girl loves to talk. My siblings and her have been exchanging mysterious glances, and her and Cierra have barely spoken to each other, there's definitely something going on. I'll get it out of her somehow.
We finally finished eating and the plates cleared themselves as soon as we were. Magic is awesome. I had been chosen as a prefect this year, and I had to lead the first year Ravenclaws to their dorms before I could go off and unpack in mine quickly so I could go meet up with the rest of my friends in Slytherin at 9 p.m, something we do every year whenever we come back from both Summer and Winter break. I finally dropped all first years in their dorm and truly questioned if the hat's getting old, because some of these first years are way too bloody stupid to be in Ravenclaw. One of them even asked if there's a curfew to use the bathroom. Like... 'yes Charlie, there is. You're going to have to hold it until your bladder explodes or you wet the bed.' Bloody idiots, I'm telling you. And to top it off: they believed me! The look of fear on their faces was priceless, they don't understand the sarcastic humor my parents raised me with. I finally had to tell them the truth, because if one of them wets their bed I swear to God...
