Cierra's POV

I covered my mouth as I yawned and stretched, confused when I realized I was in my bed. How the hell did I get here? I turned to my bedside table and found a coffee there and a note attached. I considered reading the note first but when I sat up and felt like the whole world spin, I decided on drinking the coffee first. I smiled at the bittersweet taste of it as the warm coffee hit my lips. Black coffee with 1 sugar, just how I like it. It's strong for many people but for me, it's perfect. After taking a few more sips of the coffee, I detached the note from it and read it.

'Hangover cure 101
Louis'

I smiled at the small, but considerate detail. He and I are best friends, he's a pretty good guy, for being a Hufflepuff. Honestly, I don't have many Hufflepuff friends. They're too affectionate for my taste.

I don't love affection, it's just... bleh.

Maybe it's from constantly getting shown so much fake affection since I was a kid. It wasn't until I got the Granger-Malfoy's where I realized the difference between what's real and fake. And I've got my wonderful parents to thank for that.

I smiled as I got up and savored the taste of the coffee. Thank you Louis. I walked over to take a shower, actually enjoying the cold water as it hit my body, gently massaging my back. I finished up in the shower and put on my school uniform, dreading going to our first day of classes back. I slipped on my nude colored stockings, and over them my black thigh-high stockings, then finally my uniform skirt. I heard they're letting girls wear trousers next year, great, right after I leave. I slipped on my button down, vest, robe, and Slytherin scarf, trying to be as warm as possible and still keep up with the uniform rules.

I checked my watch and muttered a curse when I realized the time: 10 A.M. I already missed the first period and half of second. Damn it. I grabbed my bags and rushed out towards herbology.

I finally got there and took a seat next to Kathy. I'll never be able to get over how brilliant my sister is. Taking 7th year classes when she's in 5th year. She scoffed as I took my seat as quietly as possible, trying to not draw attention to myself.

"Ms. Malfoy." That failed. Professor Longbottom called my name. I glanced at Kathy for help and she rolled her eyes but backed me up.

"Yes, Professor?" Kathy and I both asked, having this little routine down to memory.

"I meant Cierra." He chastised us and Kathy looked at me like 'you're on your own'.

"Yes Professor?"

"Why are you late?"

"I umm..." I looked at Kathy, begging for her help again and she rolled her eyes but nodded.

"You see Professor, Cierra got her time of the month this morning, and she was in pain, so I told her to stay in bed. I gave her something that allows her to sleep it off, my mom taught me what to do. You wouldn't prioritize a student's class period over their health, would you?" Kathy asked, changing her voice to sound more innocent, one that always lets her get her way. Professor Longbottom shifted uncomfortably in the front of the classroom and nodded.

"My bad. Yes, of course. I understand. Kathy, be a dear and give her the notes, will you?" He asked Kathy and she nodded. He turned back to address the rest of the class and continued talking about whatever it was he was teaching today.

Kathy leaned into me and whispered "you owe me" in my ear and I nodded hesitantly.

After I spent class copying Kathy's notes and roughly listening to Professor Longbottom, despite my hangover, it was finally over. I walked out of class and admired how Kathy looked so perfectly fine, even though I knew she must be much worse than me, when I fell asleep in the common room she was still there, staying up with Ric. Kathy had her hair brushed perfectly, her skin glowed from the skin care routine she never missed a day of, and even her uniform was perfectly ironed. She never has a bad day, I swear. It's bloody annoying. I rolled my eyes at her appearance and she glared at me.
