Kathy's POV

What's come over me?
Feels like I'm somebody else.
~~~
I walked over to Minnie's office with Roxy beside me, who I had convinced Professor Longbottom to let me bring, and groaned loudly when I saw Damon standing outside the headmistress' office as well, no longer in his Quidditch uniform and his jaw swollen from the fight he had gotten into a mere half hour ago.
"You sound happy to see me." He murmured, shifting uncomfortably from his position against the wall.
"Yeah, I'm ecstatic." I feigned enthusiasm and he scoffed.
"Well, I'm not exactly jumping for joy at seeing you either." Damon rolled his eyes.
"Then why are you talking to me?" I retorted.
Roxy nudged me. "Kathy. Ignore him. He's trying to get a rise out of you. " She whispered to me.
Damon ignored her and directed himself at me. "You know what? You're right—"
I cut him off. "Tell me something I don't know."
He turned to me angrily. "Look you selfish—"
"Damon!" I suddenly heard a familiar voice and we all turned to see Damon's mother, Luna Lovegood, standing in the entryway. Holy shit.
Roxy laughed mischievously, knowing that tone of voice Luna had just used all too well.
It means Damon's about to die.
"Here we go." Damon grumbled. "Hi mom."
Then she did something none of us thought she would ever do.
She slapped him across the face.
Oh shit.
"Inside. NOW!" She yelled at him and he hung his head low as he headed inside and rubbed his pink stained cheek. I have NEVER heard her yell. She turned to me and Roxy and gave us a sweet smile. What a quick change in attitude. "Kathy. Roxy." She leaned in to hug us both. "How is my dynamic duo doing today?"
"Good." We both responded at the same time, smiling at her.
"I'm so sorry for him, Kathy, honey. Let's head inside, shall we?" She asked us kindly and we nodded, allowing her to go inside before we did.
I stopped in my tracks as soon as I stepped foot in Minnie's office. Because there they were.
My parents.
Surprise after surprise today.
"Hey, Junior." I heard another familiar voice and turned to see George, standing at the other side of the office.
"You guys seriously have way too much free time in your day, don't you?" I groaned.
"The benefits of being your own boss and being in good graces with your boss, in your Papi's case." My mom teased.
"Good graces? Granger barely tolerates me." Papi complained.
"Liar. Now where's my hug?" Mami asked and I rushed over to hug her tightly. I don't care what anybody says. Mami's hugs are the best hugs.
My dad faked a cough. "What am I? Wearing Potter's bloody invisibility cloak or something?" He teased and I pulled out of my mom's embrace to hug my dad as well.
