The inside of the temple was as unadorned as the outside. There were candle stands shaped like lotuses and burning incense sticks.

The disciples lead the group towards a side hall where everyone gathered. After everyone settled down one of the disciples, a man in his late twenties, announced that the final test would be done in the next room. Looking around little Xi did not see another door aside from the one they entered from. The others also noticed this and a young lady dressed in silk holding a fan asked how? impatience in her eyes.

The disciple who talked only smiled and said using your wooden slips ofcourse. He and the other disciple then walked through the wall they were standing beside and vanished.

This made the group gasp in astonishment. Then the first to realize what to do stepped forward held the wooden slip on the wall before disappearing. Little Xi didn't enter immediately but studied the way the magic in the wall worked. As he had realized before the wooden slip was a key and the lock was the wall. More and more people passed by the wall until he was the last one left. He already deduced the probable mechanism but he had to experience it himself to make sure.

After pressing the wooden slip on the wall, the diagram he felt inside the slip began working- releasing a signal that went through the wall. A bigger array then received the signal causing the wall to release an energy that enveloped the wooden slip and his body.

So that's how it is he thought before looking around.

He was alone in a wide space with the only color he could see was white. He thought about what just happened: did we just pass through the wall? No he thought, it felt more like teleportation. But to where?

He could feel that he wasn't physically here. He then looked around before saying this is some sort of a mental space.

Correct! a female voice sounded. And you are the first one to have figured out the beginning of the test. Your consciousness had been transferred from your bodies as it is more convenient for the tests. While your bodies have been transported to the entrance of the sect.

It continued in an amused manner, the preliminary test was done to identify people who have spirit roots. These people are eligible to practice cultivation.

For the final test other aspects needed for cultivation will be tested. This test has three parts. After passing through the portal you were teleported on a room where you were put on a trance for the first and second part of the test. Successfully finishing the first and second part will mean that you have officially passed the test. You will then regain consciousness to be oriented for the third part. As for those who fail they will regain consciousness back in the lotus temple.

Now for the first part it is to identify if you have any ill intents towards the sect or towards your fellow men. The Divine lotus sect is a righteous sect and does not tolerate evil doers. All who bare ill will towards the Divine Lotus Sect would be immediately captured for interrogation and punishment.

His surroundings suddenly became bright and he felt like his very soul was laid bare. Fortunately he had long ago realized that the memories in his head regarding magic is protected by different layers of enchantment, although he can access these memories, others will not be able to see them. Even the memories when he practiced the spells were included in the enchantment. Where this enchantment came from or who put it on him he doesn't know. But if he is able to master all these magic maybe in the future he will be able to find out.

After a few moments the bright light disappeared revealing the white mind space he was in.

It worked he thought.
