I tried to chase after them even reaching my hand out, I don't even know why I am so desperate for them to notice me. But I kept on dragging legs through the fog to reach out to them and that's when the annoying sound of the alarm rang.
I opened my eyes, seeing my right arm stretched out like I am reaching for something. Wow, I must be really desperate for me to raise my right hand in reality.
I hope that dream is not some omen for my future and honestly I am very curious about who those people were and why I was so desperate in the dream.
Anyways, I went to school and nothing interesting happened except for my way back home there was a fire incident that happened.
The fire incident was of a well lived in apartment complex, the worst part is that there's still people inside and there's no heroes around to help with the situation.
The firemen and ambulances arrived, and they looked really troubled, it was probably because of how there were still people trapped inside. A fireman just helped a man get out of the burning building and the man shouted that a child is still inside. One of the firemen decided to start rushing inside and that man said the young girl was trapped inside the 5th floor, the partly collapsed floor of the building, which made the fireman hesitate since it basically means suicide for one to rush inside now.
I looked around and there's still somehow no heroes around, nor was there someone who seemed like they would survive in the building. And I know, this is probably where the heroic powerless person would rush in and attempt to save the girl, well I am not that person and I know that even if I did rush in as I am now, I will die in there and the girl will not even survive. So I did the next best choice possible, call the hero hotline to see if I can get a hero to come quick and fast. I mean I already see some people doing that, so I guess it is kind of pointless for me to do that. After that thought, I quit the call and decided to use the pager and called Rider since if I remember right, he owns a hoverboard and is as physically capable as a hero. Well, for the last statement, I am not sure but hopefully I am right.
I panicked as I tried to connect to him. After at least 30 seconds of waiting, he finally picked up.
"So what's the matter?"
"A child is trapped inside a partly collapsed burning building and there's no heroes around somehow."
"I am guessing that you want me to help out, yes?"
"Yes, of course, the location is the Ikebukuro station near the Sunshine aquarium."
"Oh I am not far from you then, cool, I will bring over my hoverboard, expect my arrival in a few minutes."
"Okay, thanks!"
In these few minutes of waiting, I kept fidgeting with the pager, getting anxious over the time it is taking for Rider to get here. How are there still no heroes here is a mystery itself but luckily Rider finally arrived.
Rider was on top of his hoverboard and saluted me before he discretely flew off to the alley behind the building and sneakily scaled up the whole thing before jumping into the fifth floor.
Luckily, no one seemed to have noticed his presence. He was in there for some time, which made me worry about the fact that the child may not be alive. But luck seems to be on my side today, and I saw Rider carrying a 5 year old girl like a princess on top of his hoverboard.
He put down the child and seemed to have told her something, probably telling her that the hoverboard is a secret between them. I ran across the street frantically to meet up with them. Upon a closer look, the girl seemed to have several burns on her legs and arms, luckily she didn't seem to suffer from injuries more serious, the sight made my tense shoulders relax. Rider proceeded to tell her to keep the whole hoverboard thing a secret and to pretend that he is a regular dude who climbed in and saved her. She nodded at that, thanked him and gave him candy. Wholesome.
Anyways Rider led us to the front and said he somehow got the girl out and that the girl is miraculously not that injured. The man who later claimed that he is the neighbor of that girl sighed in relief and hugged the girl with big fat crocodile tears gliding down his face, thanking Rider for his deeds. I just stood behind Rider this whole time and that's when he stepped aside and said that it was all thanks to my call that he was able to save the young girl from her potential death. My eyes widened at that and denied the fact. The man just thanked me and the girl gave me a snickers as her thanks. I snickered at that and the girl looked at me in question. I replied "Thanks, I need to snicker once in a while." Rider looked at me in disbelief but I saw his mouth threatening to burst until he actually did burst out laughing. Soon, the man and the girl joined in and the other people around looked at us as if we're maniacs, but who cares, we survived in the end after all this stress.
The man called the girl's parents, told them the news and the parents said Rider and I are always welcome in their household. I guess I am going to visit once in a while just for this wholesome sweets obsessed child.
And that's when a horde of heroes arrived, a bit too late don't you think? Oh well, they can help with reconstructing the building or whatever.
We left after that, and Rider walked me home since he has no life. I got home and face planted onto my bed again, I learnt that I need to get stronger today even if I don't hope to be a hero. I want to be able to save and defend at least some people in dire situations. I took out my phone and looked at the news, oh there goes an article about the incident that happened just about 10 minutes ago. It says there's no casualties, which is really good. I would feel guilty if otherwise.
Anyways I did my routine and slept with a new goal in mind that included training my body and skills.
