After attending my part time job yesterday, the bow broke due to me using it as a melee weapon and the fact that it was old made it extra fragile. That bow was the only one the snipers had at their Japanese branch since apparently 'it was not as useful as a gun' quoted from Wolf. So Wolf texted me through the pager to inform me to go to a certain place to retrieve a new one before the shift today and that's what I was doing, walking to that location.
A shop greeted me, it's definitely in a secluded place. It didn't look modern or anything, it just looked like a stall serving the regulars. With how high end the weapons of the snipers were, I couldn't believe I was in the right place. I looked down at the address and concluded that I was indeed in the right place.
I gulped and pushed the door open. The shop was messy like really messy with screws and bolts scattered everywhere across the ground and every surface possible, there were boxes stacked upon boxes, and tools bombarded every possible space. I tried to not step on any of the things lying on the ground, it was messy but it looked aesthetically pleasing and proved how the employee or owner cherished and built a lot of support items. The air was filled with the smell of metal and oil, which reminded me of the tangy taste of blood. I didn't mind, if anything it showed how experienced the workers here were. Talking about workers, where were they? When I entered the shop, I didn't even see anyone inside.
The sounds of a hammer clanging on a piece of metal or something suddenly emitted from the room in the inside. With the thought that a worker made that sound, I stepped through all the scraps only to be greeted by a teenage girl and boy co-operating together to get the piece of metal to turn into a certain shape.
"How may I help you?" Said the boy as he accidentally smeared some oil down his curly dark hair by running his hand through it, it just sprung back up afterwards.
Wolf did mention that I have to mention a certain few words in order to get the workers to give the bow for me.
"Snipers, shadow, arrow." I blurted out.
"Ah, so you're here for that, huh?"
The girl and the boy glanced at each other, then shouted "Old woman! Someone's here!" at the same time.
Well, after a few seconds, a woman in her mid twenties came out from a door that resembled a book case.
"What did I say about calling me 'old woman'?" She crossed her arms and huffed.
The other two ignored her.
"So I believe you are here for the bow, quiver and arrows under Wolf's orders?"
"Yes, he only mentioned the bow part to me though."
The women kicked open the book case door and leaned inside to reach for a bow case. It was really just a big handheld bag.
"That old man's annoying, he probably said something about how guns were superior to bows in all parts." She scratched her head then handed me the bow case.
"Here, the bow is inside along with your quiver and arrows and stuff. Don't lose them, it's been some time since I actually went ahead and made a bow. The bow should feel better than the one Wolf handed you, this one is customised to your comfort after all. You should try and hold the bow in here to see if it fits you."
I opened up the bag and the bow really did look cool. It definitely looked to be in a better condition than the old bow I broke yesterday. I grasped it in my hand and grabbed an arrow to shoot at a target placed inside the shop. Hmm, it didn't land on bullseye, but it was close enough. The bow felt so much better, it's like all the details were tailor made for me.
