Tapping my feet in a repeated pattern, I checked my watch anxiously as I waited for the subway to arrive.
The day for the UA sports festival finally arrived. The teachers did mention to arrive on time, so of course being the anxious person I am, I woke up earlier just to attempt to get to school earlier so I wouldn't be late and attract attention.
But the problem was that the subway is taking a long time to arrive, it's got to the point where it's late, which usually doesn't happen since the Japanese subway system is very reliable and punctual, but I suppose not every subway would arrive on time every time.
After waiting for a while, I decided to just sit on a random seat nearby and started drawing on a piece of scrap paper I had with me to calm down and entertain myself. The station wasn't filled with people as it was still early into the morning, there were only a few individuals that I could make out standing around probably also waiting for the subway to arrive.
Doodling on the piece of paper, thoughts ran through my head. I must fake my skills in the sports festival and try to get eliminated in the first round, so I wouldn't get to the second round. Like what Monoma had mentioned during one of our training sessions, it is to be noted that for the first round of the sports festival only about 40 participants would make it through and move onto the next round. It impressed me how he basically did the math in order to utilise schemes against the more experienced class 1A, it would also mean that he's providing support for his class to win against class 1A. Although I didn't exactly echo the amount of hatred he has for class 1A, I understood why he hated them. In general, all I have to do is to make sure I would not get to the front of the pack, though I'm pretty sure UA invests a lot of their money into the sports festival just to make the obstacles crazy and harsh, so it would actually challenge me to get to the front as I would be competing with humans with special and strong abilities.

I raised my head up from my lap where the paper was positioned to see that the rail lines are barren, but heard the ear piercing sound of the subway train stopping after having gone through fast speeds. People on the station grounds took a few steps back in caution as the train screeched through and stopped with the hero Hawks on top of one of the carts holding up a tied up villain with neon everything, her hair, skin and clothing were all neon, it hurt my eyes just looking at her in all her bounded glory.
Wait, Hawks is here?! He normally doesn't patrol this area, at least to my knowledge and if nothing has changed about his patrolling area. Seeing his red wings spread out and flapping while he descended from the top of the cart to land on the station floor, my hands started moving on their own and started the process of sketching out the baseline for Hawks' winged silhouette. It would probably take a while until the subway gets going, so might as well cherish the chance I get a real winged dynamic figure to base my drawings off of. He wouldn't notice me acting like a creep anyways, unlike Kaibara, I had not the courage to ask someone like that to be my muse, but I had the courage to sneak glances of him and try to sketch him down on the piece of paper I had with me in the quickest and most secretive manner possible from a few steps away.
People came out of the train as quick as possible and some of them even sprinted up to Hawks to ask for his signature and stuff in pure admiration. I don't blame them for Hawks is a handsome and quickly rising hero with red wings as pretty as Icarus' wings when he died due to his waxed and feathered wings going up in orange and red flames, not that I actually think the image of someone dying is beautiful. Actually death can be quite the beautiful thing, but of course it also depended on the situation to judge whether the death was beautiful or not.
Sketching out the curve of his wings made me regret that I did not bring any stationary that had the colour of vibrant red with me. That was when something whizzed past me and settled on the top of the seats.
