I want to ask if there are too many original characters in this book? Also, do you think that it's taking the protagonist way too much time to get into UA? Anyways, thanks for reading!
I ran through the corridors panting. I only have a corner and a minute left, wait is that a leg I see? Oh no, it i——
I braced myself for the incoming collision, but it never came. Instead, my right shoulder tensed up when a hand was placed on it.
"Whoa there, what's gotten you in a rush?"
A familiar voice. At that, I slowly opened my right eye that was slammed shut due to my body's earlier automatic response of protecting the eyes in the moment of collision.
Ah, I guessed it right, it was Rider.
"Um, almost being late is what's gotten me in a rush, ain't it obvious enough?" I deadpanned.
Rider's eyes filled with mirth was a sight not welcomed by me.
"What if you are?"
Wait, I thought I actually had at least a few seconds left. Oh no, I don't know if Wolf's gonna like this.
Rider's face blanked for a second before he bursted out laughing. I felt his hand shifting on my shoulder due to his laughter, which just made me question why he hasn't removed his hand yet, the hand has been on my shoulder for some time now.
I don't understand. I am genuinely confused about what he's laughing at. And at that moment, as if he sensed my confusion, he answered me.
"Hahah———" he sighed deliriously, took a deep breath then finally answered.
"You really believed me? It was a trick, you aren't late."
I looked down at my watch.
....I had a few minutes left actually, I could have just walked to the training room when I stepped foot into the building. I basically read the time wrong in a moment of panic, good job myself.
As I glanced at my watch, I realised how bizarre our current position was. I looked like I was head butting him in the stomach, while Rider was 'pushing' me away with his left hand. The other thing I also realised was that this was the second time I was this close to him, the sad thing was he literally was threatening to slit my throat with a knife last time.
"You're a good sport. You still laughed after getting tricked. If only I thought about snapping a picture earlier, your face looked so funny all scrunched up and confused."
Whoops, it seems that my amusement gained from the realisation just now was heard.
"Yea, I wish I had a camera or something to snap a sideways profile of us."
"O-"
"Yes, I wish I had a pair of earmuffs to muffle out your voices, I could hear them a mile away." A deep voice said.
"Wolf?!" Rider's eyes widened in surprise as he said this.
"I thought you went out for a bathroom break not a comedy show."
"I really did go out for a bathroom break!" Rider said in desperation.
"Then tell me what is this?" Wolf crossed his arms like an expectant mother about to punish her son, in this case Rider.
When Rider and I met his glare, we gulped. We are doomed.
Wolf sighed before he started walking towards the direction of the training room.
"We don't have all day, sort yourselves out. Young people these days."
He sounded like a disappointed mother, he wasn't even that old! He was probably in his thirties. But I learnt to never underestimate this man when he started training me.
