It has been over months since we have spoken. It has been weeks since we were seen together.
I was hanging out in the living room, popping blueberries in my mouth while watching Home Alone with Kaylyn. It was a couple of days after Christmas and a few days away from the New Years.
Harry was in the kitchen with Kaylyn's new hubby, Samual cooking up a surprise dinner for us to have tonight.
"I'm not feeling the sparks, you know." She was talking about her relationship with Samual. They have only been dating for nearly two weeks now but truth to be told, she only kept it going this long because of the holidays.
I shook my head in dismay, "You can't break up with him after the New Years." I quietly said under my breath, I didn't want the guys to hear.
"Why not? I can't do it now, it's too close to the new year."
Breaking up a couple of days before the New Years can alter their plans, Kaylyn's little scheme of a kiss. She doesn't want to be alone for the New Year countdown, especially at this A-list party that Harry invited us a couple of weeks back.
The glass bottle of cola made a clinking sound when it was rested on the glass table, Kaylyn turned to me with this expression on her face.
"You know what, I'm going to endure it for one more month." She was already plotting a long-con in her head, "I shouldn't be picky, I'm going to give him once more chance and see where this takes us."
A smack of moisture was plastered on my left cheek, "I hope you girls hungry because dinner is served." Harry pulled me up from the couch before clinging his arm around my waist.
Samual and Kaylyn joined a couple of seconds after as the dining table was set with aromatic plates of food.
"Good night guys!"
After putting away washed dish wares, Kaylyn and Samual took off into the night. They took care most of the cleaning tonight since Harry and I did it the other night.
"I'm going to take a shower, you can join if you want." Harry grinned at me by the end of the staircase before taking another step up. He moved into the house a week after we got back from Hawaii.
"I'll take a raincheck," we exchanged soft smiles at each other before I turned around and start walking towards the glass sliding door.
I slid the door open and took a step outside onto the grassy grounds in a cold airy atmosphere. It was winter time but it won't snow here. I took a glance at the far end on my left with my arms folded. I slowly walk out further away from my house.
It was dark, there was no light in the house. I haven't seen them in a while, not after that incident that had occurred back in the cruise trip. Everything sort of fell apart after secrets were revealed among the group.
Justin and Hailey went out of the country for who knows how long, but it wasn't them that had issues. Miley and Liam aren't together anymore, Velma and Jace didn't work out perfectly either.
Three days ago, to my surprise, I saw the lights were turned on in Justin's house. I wasn't sure if he came back but after that night, things were dark again.
It has been a couple of rough months having to have lost a few people who has been good friends. I'm still uncertain if I had anything to do with this, to have cause such problem in our life. We only just met, but we made a good connection, Justin and I.
"Y/N? Is that you?"
The voice was low, but it couldn't possibly be Harry's. I couldn't see their face, it was pitch black.
"Uh...who is it?" I made a full semi-circle turn, trying to see where the voice was coming from.
"Ouch!"
She screamed while I screeched in surprise, "What are you doing here? In the dark too?" Our face bumped against each other's, her chin hit my nose.
"I was in the neighborhood and didn't know if you were home."
I walked back inside to my house and invited her in, "Hailey...I'm sorry to hear about what happened."
"No, it's all right. It's better for all of us," She crossed her legs above another and took a sip from the hot mug of cocoa. "Did you make this?"
"Yup, from that box over there." I pointed to the empty box sitting on the counter top, "So will I be seeing you more, do you live nearby?"
"Of course silly, I still live next door."
I nearly spit out some hot chocolate after hearing that she'll be living with Justin, even after officially decided to break off completely.
"Oh, so Justin is moving out then?"
She shook her head, "Why would he? We bought the house together, why...do you think it's weird to live together?"
"I don't know, I don't know," I shrugged and blinked a couple of times being wrapping my head around the situation. "Don't you find it strange to live with your ex-husband?"
"We're still friends so I don't think it's weird or anything."
Hailey left before Harry finished showering, she went back to the house but before I went upstairs I saw the lights were still off. I thought it was strange.
"Is everything okay?" Harry asked passing by while rinsing his wet hair with a hand towel.
"Did you know Hailey came back?"
"A couple of days ago, I thought I saw someone outside the window."
"What? Why didn't you tell me?" I slapped his arm, if that was Hailey then it meant she didn't just recently come back.
"I thought it was nothing and I didn't want you to worry."
I took a deep breath before taking another step, "It's okay...I'm going to take a bath now."
I sank into the bathtub that was filled up with warm water and bubbles, I kept thinking back to the other nights when the house lights weren't even on.
If Hailey was back a couple days earlier than she told me, why weren't the lights turn on? She said Justin hasn't come back yet, what if she lied about that.
"Something feels strange about this."
