Two Hours Later—

After slowly and painfully crawling to the doggy bowls, I ate some of the disgusting dog food and drank some of the nasty water in them. Then I heard keys rattling outside of my cell door. My door opened and I didn't even look up, thinking it was just Eric again.

"Deputy, it's me, Dr. Charles Lindsey. I was ordered to come in here, check on you and patch you back up." He whispered as he shut the door.

I jerked my head up to see that it was, indeed, Dr. Charles Lindsey. "What? You're the person that's supposed to check on me? How? You... I thought we weren't in Montana?"

"We're in Montana, Deputy."

"Huh?"

"Yeah. Eric is leading the resistance now and he called me to check you out." Charles informed me as he dropped his bag on the floor next to me. "I don't have much time, Deputy."

"Okay, okay. Are we in the Hope County Jail right now?" I asked as he began examining me.

"No. You're in Eric's basement in his isolated home. There's nothing but woods surrounding us for miles." Dr. Charles Lindsey explained as he checked my vitals.

"Can you please tell Jacob where I am?" I started tearing up.

"I'll do my best. The resistance isn't too fond of you right now, but I'll try. I'll just have to figure out a plan."

"Please. I don't know how much longer I can stay alive in this little cell."

"Your vitals are perfect, your bruises and scratches will all heal, but what I'm worried about is your back though. Your nose will heal on its own and it'll be just like brand new. Um- your ribs should heal on their own as well if Eric doesn't beat you anymore; just rest easy and don't do anything stupid. And your back... Well, you may or may not need surgery; it looks pretty bad." Charles went on and on. "The best I can do is give you this back brace until then." He stuck his hand in his bag and pulled out a back brace.

"The sooner you tell Jacob where I am, the quicker I can get out of here. Just please do this. For me." I pleaded as I took the brace from his hands, putting it on myself.

"I promise. I'll do it, don't worry. I'm gonna get you outta here. Eric should be here any min-" Dr. Charles Lindsey got cut off by loud footsteps.

"Appreciate you, doctor, so much." I thanked Charles as my cell door opened, revealing Eric in the doorway.

"It's time to leave." Eric demanded Charles as he gathered his things, standing up and leaving. Eric was still standing there, watching me. "Goodnight, soldier."

I raised up my middle finger in the air as he chuckled, turned off the light, and locked and closed the cell door. At that moment, I started praying... Praying that Dr. Charles Lindsey would help me and tell Jacob where I am... Praying for Jacob to be able to find me... Praying for Jacob to save me... Praying that Eric would just croak over... Praying for all this physical pain that I've been feeling to go away... Praying that I would make it out of here alive...

Charles is my only hope.
