Just to make this clear, I know Jacob Seed was a Marksman in the 82nd Airborne, but I have absolutely no clue what all they did, so, please bear with me. I'm making this all up. Please read the flashbacks because it's vital to Axl's and Jacob's relationship and how they grown to grow closer. Thank you for reading! I appreciate every single one of you! Also, let me know if I should continue on with this story and if you enjoy it! :)

~Flashback~

Me and the boys, I'd say we're doing great, but Seed doesn't think so. Nothing is good enough for him. We all wish he'd lighten up a bit. I hope I can come home by Christmas, but we first have to take Afghanistan.

"Wonder what Seed is doing right now?" Sanders asked as he cleaned his M16; for some odd reason, Jacob is becoming more hard on us and is being sort of distant.

"Probably drowning in his Jack Daniel's." Eric joked as he cleaned his McMillan TAC-50.

"Or yelling at privates." Ron chuckled as he sipped from his canteen.

"Seed's had it hard lately, guys. Take it easy on him. Cook has it out for him and you know it." I defended Jacob; General David Cook was always breathing down his neck. Seed was an ass, but he didn't deserve to be talked about. He was genuinely a good guy underneath, but no one paid any attention unlike me.

"You're right." Miller agreed with me.

"If you all are talking about me, I'm back and as handsome as ever." A voice that I'd recognize anywhere said and tapped me on the shoulder.

"Hey! Sanders, you're back!" I yelled excitedly as I turned around, stood up, and tightly wrapped my arms around my best friend.

"Wouldn't miss it, Marksman." He smiled and returned the hug. "I heard a bunch of motherfuckers were about to take Afghanistan and I had to come back. And I HAD to see my best friend."

We were still hugging. "That's amazing! I'm super glad to have you back. I hate fighting without you by my side." I replied with a huge grin on my face.

"You won't have to, Johnson. It's good to be back. I'm not that easy to get rid of." Josh hugged me tighter if that was even possible.

"At this rate, we should be home by Christmas." I happily stated as I buried my head in his shoulder.

"No more lovey dovey shit! It's time to fight, soldiers!" Jacob's loud and powerful voice made Josh and I break apart in an instant and he walked over to us; he kept his stern gaze on us. "This is a big opportunity here; it won't be easy, but we can do it. The region that we're about to take in Afghanistan is heavily defended and our aim is to dismantle Al-Qaeda and deny it a safe base of operations in Afghanistan by eliminating the Talibans that rose to power and they should hand over Osama Bin Laden. If we can hold and secure the area, we own the roadways, I like our odds. Axl and I will cover you guys." Jacob gave a little speech. "But I'm not sure if Sanders here... is strong enough to be here... especially taking on something this huge. We know what happens to the weak and a wound like yours takes at least nine weeks to completely heal." Seed taunted Sanders as he stalked closer to us like a predator stalks his prey; Jacob had a dangerous look in his eyes as he glared at Sanders.

"I'm all good. You've got my word. I promise I won't let you down, sir." Josh attempted to assure Jacob, but it wasn't working.

"Your word, huh? That don't mean shit." Seed punched Sanders' wound on his stomach. "So you're good, huh?"

"Yessir." Josh choked out, trying to conceal his pain and keep a straight face as Jacob punched his wound again.

Then, Seed glanced at me; he could probably see the fury his actions and words toward Sanders caused me as he smirked. Jacob turned towards Josh. "You got some major nuts, private. I'll be watching you and Johnson like a hawk." He growled at Sanders, took a glimpse at me, then stomped off. "Truck's ready! First platoon, let's move!"
