After taking back a few cult outposts in John and Faith's regions, my new radio buzzed. Eli gave it to me as an early Christmas gift. Everyone in the resistance was worried about me and I told them what happened... partially... I told them that I was in the Whitetail Mountains in the harsh snow and I fell in a river and I took shelter in an abandoned cabin for a week until the blizzard cleared up. I mean... I didn't lie, right?

"Deputy! We're going to have a Christmas party over at the Rye's! You better come." Mary May informed me over my new radio.

"I'll be there. Talk soon."

Once getting in my Jeep, I made my way toward the Rye's. In case you're wondering, Gary, the mechanic, removed the case off my key fob, removed the battery in it, got all the water off the circuit, let it dry, and put it back together for me. And now it works. In a few minutes, I parked my car in front of the Rye's house, and got out, locking my Jeep. Making it to the front door and knocking, Nick jumped out with a red and green party hat and blew a party horn in my face, startling me.

"Sorry, Dep. Didn't mean to scare ya. Come on in." Nick apologized and placed his hand on my shoulder, leading me in his home. The Rye's house was decorated in a bunch of lights with a humongous Christmas tree right beside the front door with wreaths here and there; this was definitely all Kim's doing.

"How have you been, Deputy?" Pastor Jerome came up to me, shaking my hand. "It feels like I haven't seen you in forever."

"I've been alright. I've just been so busy."

"Yes, indeed. We decided to have a little Christmas party here and invite you to give you a break for all you've been doing to fight against the cult... We all appreciate you so much, Deputy."

I nodded my head with a small smile and headed to sit on the couch. In order from left to right, it was Mary May, Grace, Jess, an empty spot, Sharky, and Hurk Jr. I chose to take the empty spot in between Sharky and Jess instead of standing.

"What's up, dude?!"

"Hey Hurk! I still want to join your cult." I answered as I sat down. "I better be your first Hurkie."

"You got it, bro! It'll be me, you, Sharky, and a bunch of smokin' hot girls. We'll be slammin' beers all the time, man. It'll be fun."

"Hell yeah, Hurk."

"Hi Deputy." Jess spoke as I turned around toward her.

"Hey Jess. I miss going hunting with ya."

"Likewise. Let me know when you go."

"Glad ya made it, Deputy!" Mary May hollered from the other side of the couch.

"Me too, Fairgrave."

"How ya doin', Deputy?" Grace asked, her rifle in her hands; she was cleaning it.

"Pretty good, soldier. What about you?"

"I'd be doin' better if this fucking cult would die."

I just nodded in response.

"Hey shorty! How've you been, gorgeous?" Sharky asked as he tackled me in a warm hug. He always smelled like smoke, gas, and beer. The aroma that emitted off of his clothes seemed to comfort me in a bizarre way, but I was cool with it.

"Great, Shark." I smiled at the pyromaniac and pulled away from him. "They got any alcohol here?"

"Yeah, it's over by the eggnog and fruit punch." Sharky stated as he pointed toward the kitchen.
