Previously:

"Right, did you know that the mafia ball has been delayed?"

"It has?" I wasn't really suprised at Dreas lack of knowledge. Her brother probably didn't tell her again.

Lexis POV;

"Yaa, the ball has been postponed to the end of the year." I sipped the last of my drink while turning to look at Drea.

"Vai al diavolo Alessandro! (Go to hell Alessandro!)" Drea spat out while gritting her teeth.

I laughed out loud at that. "Stop cursing your poor brother. The big bad mafia boss probably thought a change of time was unimportant." I decided to stick up to the guy I have never met.

"Tch" Drea turned her face away for 2 seconds, before turning her head towards me again at such a speed that I was worried she'd get a whiplash!

"Hmm..sticking up for my brother eh. You seem to understand him well." I really don't like where this is going.

"Maybe you'll make a matching couple. Want me to set you two up?" Drea asked, wiggling her eyebrows.

"You want to start war?" I asked back.

"Tch, you never know, the results may surprise us!"

"Yaa, whatever, get that thought out of your head." I said standing up from my seat. "I have to get going now. I promised my assistant I'd be on time for work for once."

"Your the boss, duh." Drea gave me a look that said, are you nuts?

"Yaa, doesn't mean I can slack off. Byeee!"

I didn't bother to pay since it was Dreas treat today. Tidying up my wrinkled skirt, I walked out the doors.

Walking on the side walk, I was a bit regretful for not bringing my cherry red Audi R8. I could have spared myself some walking, not that I mind that.

I was still contemplating on taking a taxi to the company when I felt it.

A very heated gaze! I looked around a bit, trying to determine who it was coming from.

I couldn't find anyone tho. But I'm certain somebody is staring at me, call it a woman's sixth sense, or the fact that I'm very much trained!

Either way, someone is definitely observing me. I couldn't help raising my vigilance despite feeling no malice from the gaze.

"Whoever it is, they are definitely skilled. Better than me for that matter."

I walked some more distance, but I could still feel that gaze once in a while.

"Maybe big bro sent a hidden guard despite everything I said. I'll just ignore it, it's not like there is any malice in it anyway."

In the end, I decided to take a taxi after all.

I realized the gaze had disappeared before I got to the company. Weird!

Spoiler alert; first bloom of love in the next chapter.
