CHAPTER 31: Liam..please be alright!

Alessandro's POV;

"Is everything ready?" I asked James while staring at the security footage.

"Everything is in order. We have let our men let out word of a spy being detained in this warehouse." James answered me seriously. "Also, we have allocated a number of skilled guards around the place, and several mini security cameras have been set up throughout the premises."

"Bene. Ora non ci resta che aspettare e vedere se questa spia è apprezzata dalla mafia da cui proviene!" (Now all we have to do is wait and see if this spy is valued by whichever mafia he came from!)

I looked towards one of the screens in front if me while speaking. The screen showed the spy who was held in a dilapidated room. The room was in no condition for someone who was so badly injured to stay in. I wouldn't be surprised if his injuries got worse due to infection. Then again, I was never a kind person to begin with!

I looked at my phone, considering whether I should call Drea again. In the end, I decided against it. But, I so badly wanted to see my little kitty!

What will she think of me if she ever came to know this side of me? Will she hate me?

I never want to see that happening. But I can't give up on her either! "Boss! We've got news that some cars are heading towards us. They are currently around 3 miles away!"

One of my men came barging in to the room while reporting the latest updates. "It seems this bet isn't going to be fruitless after all. Get everyone in position. Make sure no one is slacking!" I gave my orders before picking up my Sig P365 XL, I got ready for the upcoming inevitable fight.

Lexi's POV;

I was still feeling very much lost even when we had reached our destination- the headquarters of the American mafia. Our main base!

I looked at the magnificant building that had more floors underground than above, hidden deeply in this private forest belonging to our family. The entire 28,000 hectares of the forest was highly guarded, with various traps and security measures.

I thanked the man who drove me hear before heading inside the base. Not everyone here knew me, so I wasn't surprised when I was stopped at the entrance. They didn't dare disrespect me though, after all, being able to come up to this point itself showed I'm not just any Tom, Dick and Harry.

I wasn't held back long as Harry came out to escort me in. The guards were probably wondering who I was, considering their fourth in command personaly came to escort me.

I chuckled a little at that thought, easing my mind from my earlier worries as well. It's a good thing I wore a mask when coming over. Other than my gender, these people won't be able to guess anything else.

I walked with Harry as we moved past various posts to go meet my brother. We didn't speak most of the way, and I knew that was him giving me privacy with my worries. I hesitated before deciding to ask Harry regarding what had been bothering me ever since getting the text from big brother.

"Li..Liam..he..any news?" I asked, a bit afraid to hear the answer.

Harry gave a slight sigh, before looking towards me and answering. "So far we only know he was caught. As for how he is doing right now..I'm sorry to say that we are unable to find out."

I knew Harry just didn't want to say that he was probably either badly hurt or..dead!

Knowing my best friend in the mafia, the person who was like a second brother to me, was caught by the guy whom I'm starting to develop feelings toward, is really driving me insane!
