CHAPTER 25: can't find anything about Z

Alessandros POV;

She said...to give it my best shot! Alexis..she..she said she'll be waiting! This means I still have a chance!

I was beyond excited! I looked around the café, but I couldn't find even a trace of her.

When did she leave?! Dang! I didn't even notice when she left!

I was contemplating on going to look for her, when my phone rang.

Thinking for a second, in the end, I decided not to run after her. What if I make her change her mind again?!

I sat back on my seat and picked up the non stop ringing phone.

"James, this better be important!" I masked my previous emotions, and answered the call coldly.

"Zandro, remember that guy we've been trying to find out about?"

He didn't seem the least bit affected by my cold response. But, what he said did pique my interest.

"Z??" I asked, while ordering for a new drink, considering the one I ordered previously is no longer very...well..lets say, delicious.

"Yes, that guy!" James continued after my answer. "It seems, he has always been part of the American mafia. Also, he seems awfully close with Xander Torsney. Our people found some old pictures of him. But, none of the pictures had captured the persons face. We also haven't been able to confirm his gender. You know what's more? This guy..Z, he seems to have a high place in their mafia. He seems to have suddenly disappeared 2 years ago tho, until now that is."

I think James didn't breath the entire time he was talking. I could hear him breathing loudly after his speech!

"What do you mean disappeared two years ago. As far as I can see, he didn't show himself much, even before that. Otherwise there is no way I wouldn't have heard of him until now." I paid for my drink and left the café.

After getting in my car, I let the call be connected to it, before driving off.

"Zandro, the thing is even our spies in the American mafia can't find anything more about this Z. It's like..talking about that guy..even in the mafia..is a taboo!"

I narrowed my eyes at that. "Hmm...it seems this Z is someone important to Xander, or maybe even the entire American mafia!" I smirked a little while coming to this conclusion.

"Zan.." I cut the call without letting James speak again.

Z..is it? I'm really interested in your relationship to Xander Torsney. Why is your information so hidden? Who could you possibly be to Xander, for him to hide you so well?

Well..whatever. I can find out more about him some other time. Right now..I have more important things to do!

I dialed Drea. She picked up at the very first ring! Ok??!! Doesn't she avoid my calls usually?

"How did it go? Did you guys get together? Is she my sister in law now? Should I call her that? Oh...when is the wedding? Sh..."

"OK..STOP RIGHT THERE! I almost ran into a traffic light because of you!" She snickered at that, and she didn't even bother holding it in. Seems I've been too soft these days.

"Didn't you tell me to set that meeting up because your interested in Lexi? Oh..wait..don't tell me I misunderstood! Did she..by any chance offend you, and you wanted to..oh my god! Is my bestie ok?! Did you do anything to her?"

Annoyed, I cut the call. It seems I can't discuss anything with Drea right now.
